Nicely done. As a person who sits in traffic for a living, I can note what the economy is doing simply by gauging rush hour traffic volumes.

They aren't back to pre-crash levels by a long shot, but they are substantially higher than they were when we were getting much longer recovery times (the time built into the schedule to allow for traffic and trip delays) between trips. I've found this to be far more accurate than anything I hear on the mainstream media.

Traffic is an excellent anecdotal data point, imho. I remember at the height of the panic how normally very congested streets became a breeze to drive.

Then may I suggest you read it again. The post actually goes on to explain how inaccurate the reporting on jobs has been lately. Good luck in your search & keep your head up!
