The line that got me?

Must be able to not ask for upward mobility and want to stay in this position instead of using it as a stepping stone.

No. No. Absolutely no.

The REASON to take an administrative assistant position is to get one's foot in the door of a company that you want to work for.

I'm still liking the "we're just pretty much gonna come out and say that we're discriminating based on age which is illegal but in this economy WHADDYA GONNA DO ABOUT IT" line.

Wtf. They might as well say they want a young person. And that salary ..if thy demand me to look like $100k, they better be paying it.

It's illegal to say they want a young person; age discrimination got outlawed in 1975. So they said it without being explicit about which federal laws they're contemptuous of.

I suspect that back 80 or so years ago the equivalent job would have been available to a high school drop out.

And who in their right minds is NOT looking to get a better paying job? Either thru promotions within the same company, or by finding a better company to work for?

People so unmotivated that I'd never hire them as janitors.

Grrrr....I'm getting more and more angry at some of the job postings I see. I am working right now, only 20 hours a week. So I figure I'll try to even land a part-time second job...but I see many with very unrealistic expectations that will pay only $10 - $12 an hour. Not that I'm getting answers on any of the resumes I am sending anyway. But I'm seeing lots of companies taking advantage of their employees when five years ago many policies and practices were different.
