Just got this email. Check it out: A job fair was canceled because
the employers aren't really hiring and they don't want to bother
collecting resumes for people they aren't going to employ. The last
several job fairs were a joke, so halting the job fair is really the next
logical step down.

Well, it's not Vegas - man, they are totally screwed. But Phoenix has been in a very deep trough for a while. We had a big housing spike, and now our surplus is enormous. My ride to work goes through different neighborhoods, and I'm seeing more short-sale signs every week.
