I actually wrote this two years ago, had it posted elsewhere, but I figured with the coming soul destroying of Show I should dish out a little fluffyness

Aww, just picturing Dean making French toast and making sure to clean up as he went along... how cute is that?! And Sam drawing a picture. And Dean sneaking to buy his mom a card and earrings, too!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww, I love this and I love you too!!! ♥♥♥

Thank you sweetie! And ahhh Dean was clearly a mama's boy, and whether Dean thinks so or not I think that caretaker side of him was always there, though obviously it got pushed and pulled to extremes with their up-bringing with John.
And two year olds like to draw right? lol Dean's too grown up to make a drawing LOL but yes I see Sammy being obsessed with crayons *nods*
I'm so happy you liked this!
*huggles and snuggles*

And well you know I like the thought of them getting to have normal sibling rivalry type thoughts lol I mean I still imagine this Dean to be fiercely protective of Sam, but yeah, Mary wouldn't shove parental duties off onto Dean like John did. I mean don't get me wrong. I do still love John, but I think it would come more naturally to Mary as a mother to put her boys first above all else. Whereas John put Mary and his grief for her before anything else.

Mary definitely wouldn't shove parental duties on Dean. I love John but he was so wrapped up in his grief that he forgot Dean was just a child who needed his father, now more than ever, but yes, John was blinded to all except finding the demon and leaving Dean to be parent, brother and caretaker of Sam.
It breaks my heart.

And aww I'm so glad we agree on John. It really is so very heartbreaking. I do truly believe he did the best he could, of course he loved his boys and wanted to keep them alive, but without Mary he was rudderless, and he was thrust into this world he knew nothing about. And he fell back on his Marine training/experience. I think there could have been a degree of fugue state-ness at least in the beginning which devolved into the demon hunt obsession. And well we know that getting that revenge became his life.
You know, before John gave himself up to Yellow eyes I think he truly did see what he had done, and he absolutely meant what he said to Dean, and just UGH!! emotions!! well up until telling Dean he might have to kill Sam, and without giving him any explanation. but still. aaaahhhh.
