I totally think that prostitution should be legal. I'd never do it and I'd never forgive my husband for taking part, but I think it's necessary and good.

I think the biggest problem, however, is that prostitution isn't just women who choose to do it. Most of them are sold into it. Most of them are owned by someone - a pimp, if you will - and are forced to do it. It's scary and I know the law is put in place to protect people, but I really think it would make things better to legalize it and regulate it, not put them in jail.

Yeah, I guess I don't know a lot about the ins and out of this... but I like what other people here have suggested about arresting the pimps and the Johns.

Obviously pimping people should be illegal... it's human sale and trade!

Yeah... and she's right. There are scams running all over the world where women are taken to countries far from their home, robbed of all their money, "rescued" by someone (who is really a pimp in on the scan) who buys them what they need, and then told they need to earn back their money to get back home and are prostituted out against their will.

And even here in America we have people who are forced into prostitution by spouses or guardians or significant others as a means of "earning their keep."

But, on the other hand... if it were legal and regulated these instances would be much rarer.
