Lost (and not quite found.)

The nurse who had taken Monk from the exam room had lead him to a hallway and sat him down on a bench, informing him with a smile that she’d be right back.

Within three minutes, he was up and looking for his doctor.

It wasn’t as though he didn’t want to wait and listen to the nurse - she was nice enough, after all, and had a pleasant smile that reminded him of Natalie… Well, Natalie when she wasn’t stressed out about something. Monk wondered idly what always stressed Natalie out. It wasn’t like she had crown molding to vacuum. Crown molding was a difficult adversary.

Monk straightened his shirt slightly and started up the stairs, figuring that if he double-checked every room in the hospital, he’d eventually find his doctor.
