Bear's now booked on a flight out for the closing. I'm still a bit unsure about the closing date, for I'm suppose to be presenting at a start-up meeting in Indy on the day, both in AM and PM sessions. Hopefully the closing will be either before or after the presentations. Anyway, we're getting prepared to donate our car up there to a charitable ( Read more... )

would you want to sell the car? Or can you get more off on taxes than if you sell it?

We talked about this once, hon... I think over dinner. We drive our cars into the ground. While the car itself is in fair shape, the electrical is still shot (meaning half the gauges, including the fuel gauge) is not working. The odometer works, as does the trip odometer, so if you reset that after each fill-up (and you must fill up), you will know to fill up again after 260 miles (conservatively). With the electrical, the mirrors and seats are not working. And, the oil light flickers on and off (though I am not convinced that is because of the electrical problems). Next, the transmission is slipping more and more, especially when taking turns or going around curves. To me that says fluid levels, but I've checked and they are good. She also tends to bog down and die when she is cold. She will always restart (or has), but that is another concern. Lastly, the wipers are busted. The drivers side works, but the other slips and sometimes, since they are not in synch, they catch and pop up and bend and .... well, it is just dangerous ( ... )

Actually, I'm donating it with the stipulation that it needs to be used as parts. She's been a good ol' car to us, however she's been warn out for years and we've been nursing her to her grave. Thus, we'll be donating her to get it off on taxes and thus not worrying about anyone else driving her.
