I hopped on-line last night and ordered a treadmill from Sears. I got some flack today about living in Florida and why would I need to have one. I don't believe everyone realizes that by the time I'm ready to exercise, it's usually pretty dark outside and I don't feel right running Tampa after dark (I wouldn't have felt right doing it in Indy ( Read more... )

I think your neighborhood is pretty safe. When I lived in Northdale it wasn't so bad walking around at night. But I'm surprised anyone has given you flack about your treadmill. I used to have one inthe 80s. Several people do. It's hot as Hell in the summer and believe me you'd rather run indoors.

Yeah, I'm not actually too worried about the quality of my neighborhood.. I use to sit outside on the grass in one of the worse places in Indianapolis w/o fear (I'm always getting told I'm too trusting). The issue is more that I wear headphones when I'm exercising and I'm practically blind, so running alone at night probably isn't the most intellegent thing for me to do because I'm impaired in two ways (sights & hearing)...
