And to start the ball rolling:

Who is the Pillowman in the play? Aside from the story, obviously, does the title refer to Katurian? Michal? Tupolski? The Little Green Pig Girl? Or is there more than one?

Seriously though, what do you think?

Hmmm good question, to me it refers to Katurian. But I guess it's open to interpretation, different people may have different views of who it refers to.

Be sure to let us know what you think of the Broadway production once you've seen it. To me Billy Crudup doesn't look like Katurian to me, but Michael Stuhlbarg does look like Michal. That's not to say they won't be good though.

I have sadly never seen The Pillowman; looking at the prices and the casting for the Broadway production, I won't be seeing it in the near future either.

However, I have read the play (and greatly enjoyed and admired it). I believe that they are all Pillowmen. All of them try to save the world in their own way. All of them think they are right for whatever they have done.

Saviors them all. Mad men them all. In someone's eyes.

Actually, I have to say that I agree with Oktober Ghost's assessment. If one takes a look at each of these four characters, every single one believes that the choices he makes-for those around him, over those around him, over life and death-are the right ones, the honorable ones, for the situations they are faced with.

Each one believes himself a savior of a sort. Each one plays God. Each one is the Pillowman.
