Now I know why speak_me_fair was so quick to claim this fic. This is utterly beautiful. Two loving men and an intelligent woman who knows that fitting in is better than fighting a prior claim. Of course, it also gives her a freedom that other women would not have, which she also recognizes.

And the fact that she is appreciated for that intelligence and understanding makes it even better.

Also, I wrote it specially for her. ^_~

I confess, I am deeply creeped out by Portia as she's written. She's rather chilling, particularly if she's played with the power and agency that she deserves--and so I think part of my project here was writing her with that power and agency, but without that sense that a powerful woman is a threatening one.
