Sigh. I was afraid of this when he moved in with Steve. (Way up there on my list of "Um, what??" moments for this show.) I don't mind Jerry as an occasional recurring character, but I really can't see him as a regular. Do TPTB think that we won't notice the loss of the ohana feels if they keep adding more regulars to the show? "Hey, you really liked that small, tightly-knit ensemble. You'll really like it with more people and less cohesion!"
At least if you finish your hanging stick man, you'll get an extra hour a week to do something that's still fun.
I'd guessed that Jerry was going to be recurring, but never in my wildest dreams did I ever think they'd make him main cast. What the heck could they possibly find for him to do to justify that much screen time? It's not like H50 is The X-Files where there are conspiracies around every corner.

I can go back to watching Grimm live on Fridays. I may just do that anyway.
Two weeks isn't too late to comment, right? Man, I suck! But I'm here now and I'm trying to go back and find what I missed, starting with you - and watch for random belated replies to your comments to my posts, too!
Anyway, I'm so with you here. I was actually surprised they even got renewed, to be honest. I just don't know what they're thinking at this point but your Hangman analogy works for me, too.
I'm not sure what they can pack into these last few eps that will make me excited to come back to this in September. 19 is going to have to be EPIC...and I feel like that's a pipe dream at this point. *sigh*
I've soldiered through seasons of shows I didn't enjoy either in the hope they'll get better (and that happens just often enough to keep that hope alive), or because I still liked the characters. Episode 19 in particular will be a deciding factor as to whether what tiny tidbits of Steve and Danny's friendship still exist will be worth sticking around for. It may be time to finally pull the plug on this show to make room for other things I'm enjoying more right now.
Speaking of belated things, I suppose I should watch the 2 most recent Supernatural eps so I can write them up. The episode before last was preempted for election coverage and then aired at midnight, and my givadam broke. I have some time off from work coming up very soon (only 2 days left, not that I'm counting), so that's the first item on my staycation agenda.
Also, I'm about 1/3 of the way through cross stitching an angel ward, so there's that.
For me this whole decline of H50 is reminiscent of my Heroes trauma. In that case, I definitely had to quit watching because it seemed like every successive episode in S3 made me want to put my fist through a wall. That's not exactly fun TV viewing.
Looking forward to you catching up with SPN. I had some issues with last week's ep but I still enjoyed it. And I loved last night's ep. Hope you enjoy once you get around to watching - and yay for time off work!
Angel ward cross stitch? Pictures when you get it done, please!
The only reason I made it to the end of Heroes was because I discovered the über snarky heroes_meta comm. The episode reaction posts were hilarious. When Heroes decided to throw continuity out the window in new and exciting ways every episode, I stopped trying to write serious meta and started contributing to heroes_meta instead.
The angel ward pattern isn't very big, so I'm kind of hoping to finish it while marathonning season 2 (and possibly 3) of Being Human during my staycation.
