Naked = body.

Nekkid = intent. :)

Well there are various things used by the word 'naked' as the question askes, and really it's all very contextual. Rarely I use the word naked to mean feeling vulnerable and slightly panicy becuase I am without something usually my keys and wallet... it works becuase leaving the house without them deliberatly can also be very strangely exilerating damned if I know why.

Do I feel any of those things when I strip off? No, I generally just feel draftier. But lacking in garments is really the correct practical usage of the word naked

If it helps I can see myself being the little old lady that goes to the corner store in her housecoat becuase she's old enough not to give a damn.

Your question writing begs the question you didn't ask:
What's the difference between "naked" and "nekkid" (not in Webster's, I know, but the pronounciation makes all the difference); or between "naked" and "nude"?

Or in what cases would you say "unclothed" instead of any of the above?

English is not just redundant - It's redundant with reason.

Hmmmm... my vote went with 'Intent', but it is true, context is an issue. However, for the most part, when I use, or hear used, the word 'naked', it usually is used in a statement or idea in which the user has planned the situation, or at least has agreed or acquiesced to it. Not in all cases, certainly... but on average, I find it indicates an intended state.

On a side note... one of my favorites, when it comes to states...

H.
