I absolutely HATE Lisa. I haven't liked her character since she was first introduced, and now to have her be with Dean makes me sick. Knowing that fans have acted negatively in regards to pairing Sam or Dean with a serious girlfriend in the past, I can not believe that they have gone down this road. I have no faith in Sera Gamble and all of the spoilers I've heard about so far have made me very skeptical of S6. This may be the end of SN for me and that is so sad. A domesticated Dean is not the character I fell in love with when I started watching this show. They may as well have him driving a minivan (mom-mobile) for Pete's sake. I also have a feeling that Dean and Cas's friendship has been thrown into the crapper. He was really the only friend that was not blood related that Dean had and I was hoping to see that developed. What, is LISA taking his place now? Oh and a kid, that's all the show needs to take it even farther away from what SN has always been, and it makes it even more difficult to get Dean out of his relationship ( ... )

Same. At first I never even really thought of Lisa, because she was a random chick that Dean slept with (a fun one night stand kind of girl) that he was only interested in seeing again for more sex. And that was it. I can understand his attachment to Ben at the time, or really the IDEA of Ben, because it was season 3 and he was facing going to Hell without leaving anything of him behind but the Impala. And a kid could be his legacy, etc. But Lisa turning up was pulled out of nowhere, as was their relationship. And just to have Dean's other relationships that have been developing since season 4 (Castiel) or the beginning of the series (Bobby) pushed aside? It seems like a waste of great previous writing and plotting. And I'm disappointed, to say the least. I don't know what's going on in the writers' heads. I really don't. I like it being a "boys club" as well, simply because every girl we've seen on the show has been stereotypical and I'm so not up for that (I'd argue that Sarah Blake was the best girl they had on there, ( ... )

I think the ER might get fuller as S6 approaches.:) I don't think I'm going to be happy with S6 at all if Lisa and Ben are even just left in the background. I want them gone for good.Even if they're just in the back of Dean's mind all season, they may as well be in the back of the Impala, so I would like to see them written out totally. I agree with you about them not being the family that Dean's been looking for. If the best arc they could come up with for Dean angsting about his "family", then they should have turned to some of the fan fic writers for ideas because they're much more creative. SUPERNATURAL is supposed to be a show about guys hunting monsters not romantic angst....ok, unless it was between Dean and Cas.:) I'm with the Dean Winchester we used to know when he would say "no chick-flick moments".

lol, definitely :oP And yeah, it's the type of thing where having Lisa and Ben not appear in the show but still be "in" it just won't work... we'll know Dean's still thinking about protecting them or whatever :o/ I can't imagine them sticking around for long, though... I mean, the reaction to Lisa can't be all that positive in fandom?? So whey keep her around? *sigh*

And yes to everything else you've said... especially about the Dean we know and his "no chick-flick moments" motto. hehe, Dean and Cas romantic angst is the only angst allowed! It is truth ;o)

Same here. I'm still interested in the Campbells, but I just hope everything fits in with Canon. (Which... in In the Beginning Dean tells the owner of the Colt when he steals it from him "It'll be with the Campbells [in the next town over. They're hunters]." And the hunter is like "I've never heard of them." So! If the Campbells are supposed to be these hugely well known hunters, why didn't he know them, if he was in such close proximity of them ( ... )

I don't think I'm going to like Samuel. From the spoilers, it just seems like he's there to cause conflict with the boys. Haven't we already DONE "boys clash with an older hunter?"

Plus, I still hate Lisa. If there was ONE think I could pull out of the SPN canon and toss away, it would be her.

I agree. I was kind of excited to see Granddaddy Winchester, but now not so much. Like you said, we've already seen it, that whole clash with an older, authoritative hunter figure, and while seeing more of the Winchester family could be interesting, there are multiple ways that can be done instead of falling back on already used character ideas. Lol, maybe Samuel's really an evil thing or evil reincarnation determined to rip the brothers apart... that's the only way I'm beginning to be able to justify his character :oP

And yes... I tried not hating her for a while, but I just can't. She doesn't MAKE SENSE as a character, and her development is unnatural and doesn't fit with the canon set up. So I agree, one character that could be thrown away? It would totally, undeniably be her.

If he turns out to be evil, I'm 100% down with it!

I actually have an upcoming post on Lisa and my problems with her...

lol, I'm actually really hoping for this now... as unlikely as it probably is :oP

I am looking forward to this... immensely.

Omg bb, I'm far to tired to give this a proper reply but Holy Jesus on a tortilla I agree 100% on everything here. THIS. Funny enough all I could think about today was how awful watching all the scenes with Lisa in Supernatural is going to be. How the relationship between Dean and Lisa is going to feel like shoving flaming swords down my throat. I really feel like Dean in that second gif, I'm just pissed at this point and want to punch something. I also have the dreaded feeling that we might see more Lisa then Cas this entire season. Excuse me while I go barf a little.

Omg, yes. I hate the fact that I'm not crazily looking forward to season 6, and it's all because of Lisa and Dean's I-need-to-find-a-family-with-her-and-Ben thing he's got going on. And yup, that second gif says it all... Gahh! What is happening here?!

If Lisa is in this season more than Castiel I will go on a rampage... I'm not joking. It's bad writing as well as a complete waste of a well-developed and original character. Ugghh...

gur. hey you never know, maybe they'll have their own "mary and john" incident and have their house burnt down for literary symmetry, the woman on fire on the ceiling and the whole shbang. and cas will be like "it was part of the divine plan, just so you know, why i can't help" *shrug*

even that will be better than 11 eps of lisa D: that'd change the show into super NORMAL *bangs keyboard*

the_ninth_bow September 16 2010, 04:38:35 UTC
lol! Oh yes, we can't neglect literary symmetry ;o) My only concern with that is if Lisa does go out with a bang like that (or is killed off), then she's going to be put on a pedestal... like Mary and Jess (though they kinda deserved that glorification/focus on revenge aspect to their character... Lisa doesn't). So idk... I'm kinda hoping Dean is just like "Sorry, this life isn't what I wanted" or Lisa's like "Dean, you have other obligations... I can't keep my life on hold and put Ben in danger" or something :o/

But ugh... 11 episodes... I can't imagine how that's gonna be (and I really don't want to) :(
