I've been skimming Facebook and LJ, but the absence of forced desk time has really cut into my reflective ramblings. I'm quite sure you ( Read more... )

Yay!! So glad to see you back posting. I've really missed you!

That's really cool about you and B going to see the inauguration! We watched it on tv but I kept thinking it must be awfully cold! B won't forget the experience if only because it was so bitterly cold. What an amazing experience!

So, when do we get to see pictures of YOU, my dear? Inquiring minds want to know! ;)

Wow, that will be an awesome story for B to tell...I went to see the Obama get sworn in, and a horse tried to eat me.

I'm quite sure you miss all of that.

Deeply and substantially. You are one of the only voices on LJ whose absences makes me go "Where's so-and-so?" after a couple of days, and after a couple more days, "I MISS SO-AND-SO." (You old so-and-so, you!)

I'm not living the same "bring a lunch to the office" lifestyle, so I need to re-imagine the strategy.

While I was on leave last semester, my eating went to shit, and I instituted remedial measures. One of those was to focus strongly on lunches. I found that I tended to consider breakfast and dinner "real" meals (I guess since I often ate them with JD) and let lunch slide. So I started making a point of buying things that I liked especially for lunch. Chicken sandwiches were a big hit, as was potato salad and homemade bread with soup.

OMG I am so impressed you and the Beetle were among the millions! I didn't know! (I cried too. Multiple times.)

Two yarmulkes. Maybe it's a gang thing.
