Funny, I like the prologue and felt that the author caught undercurrents of emotion well. But the first chapter seemed to be written by a different person! The dialog between Sirius and his Mother was totally lacking and boring. Also, while it was action filled, the participants of this chapter seem to have no characterization and it's impossible to see these kids as 11.
I did like the summary though so I may try another chapter or two to see if the author can establish some characterization for the Marauder era.

Well, I actually beta this fic, and when I saw the change in style for the first chapter, I felt it added more to Sirius' character. He talks in an old fashioned - yet flamboyant - way that I feel goes well with the aristocratic life the Black family lead.

But, each to their own and everyone may not like it. Though, I'd still check out chapter two. ^_~
