I've been in a terrible mood all day, and really need to get some dinner in me before I pass out, but I wrote a new post on FtCM. Some day I'll understand why I'm always less sure and more afraid of backlash when I post Judaism-related posts. I'm not sure why you're worried about the internet hoi polloi unless you post your article on a really popular website like Digg. The trolls generally don't read blogs like yours, in my experience.

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to stick to your experiences in your criticism. I mean, a lot of times, there's enough outside criticism coming at concepts like Islamic and/or Black femininity, you know? And that makes people defensive and angry.

See, I agree with you. And then I see people on Feministing getting angry for people talking about experiences that they don't consider "important" enough, and I wonder why anyone would want to read about what I have to say.

But yeah, I don't believe in trying to explain other people's experiences. I don't think I'd do a good job at it, and I'm not even sure it can be done well.
