Because I lost a bet, there is fiction

Miss Maggie and bluirinka on the Television Without Pity boards won the betting pool on how Nickelodeon would screw us over this week, so I owed them each a drabble (a short work of fiction). Maggie requested something with Suki. Since that's one of my favorite characters, I was happy to oblige. (Bluirinka wanted an Iroh story, which is here.)

Thanks. I was pretty nervous because I hadn't finished a story in years.

I knew it was a sucker's bet when I took it. Luckily I actually enjoyed losing.

Hey. It's Maggie.

What a lovely drabble-esque piece. It's cute with bit of angst, which is nearly exactly how I see Suki. I think it's a lovely bit of fiction about some of the things she has to deal with after spending time in prison.

Thanks again very much for humoring my request.

Thank you for the praise. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I tried to get the right balance of the "bad memories still lingering" feeling and an upbeat "but things are good now" attitude.

It was my pleasure. I'd had the thought of Suki coping with her post-POW experiences bouncing around my head for a long time now. You gave me a good excuse to finally sit down and write it out.

I think it's also realistic that Suki would like not being alone, as she's use to being with a band of warriors. Being part of team is probably pretty normal for her. Nicely done.

Thank you.

And yeah, I'd had that same thought. She's spent half her life working as part of a unit, then leading that unit. Being the only Kyoshi Warrior around must be terribly lonely.
