...the latest Discworld book by Terry Pratchett, isn't available in the US until March for some inexplicable reason. But a friend of mine who's in Norway right now hooked me up. The weird thing I find is how many AMERICAN books come out in the UK before they do here. (The second half of Janny Wurts' Mistwraith series and Robin Hobb's latest dragon novels spring to mind.) There's some kind of bureaucratic shenanigans going on here, I suspect. It can't have anything to do with practicality or physical constraint.

Just finished it. It was good. Not as good as Night Watch or Thud! or some of the other greats, but very engrossing. Just... is it me, or is the tone and style of Pratchett's writing... different lately? I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about Snuff and especially this one felt different from other Discworld books.
