I can't believe I had a frelling Avril Lavigne song stuck in my head for almost three days.
Noir AMVs are killing my sense of musical taste. :-P
(At least it wasn't "Sk8r Boi", or I might have been forced to hit myself in the head with my expanding baton until I got brain damage....)
noir,
anime

(Earworm song finally trumped by earworm power of "Tourniquet" by Evanescence, which is somewhat better than a lateral move, but it took doing. That sucker was resilient. Even "Melody" by Yuki Kaijura didn't purge it, and that one always works for me. When exactly did Lavigne stop being the faux poser "punk" teenybopper chick who cranked out godawful poppy auditory tripe like "Sk8er Boi" and "Girlfriend"?)
Currently enjoying some AC/DC and Black Sabbath. I've been neglecting the classics too long.

I'm all for people branching out, but I'm not sure I agree with these classically trained opera singers all pulling this crap. STOPPIT. Go sing Madame Butterfly!

(I have had the original stuck in my head many, many times in the past year or so. Blame those Noir AMVs again. You have a series with female leads, you get Evanescence fanvids by the score. It's inevitable.)

You don't get rich and famous doing that anymore, it seems. Still, if it were me, I'd like to think that I wouldn't trade taste and artistic integrity for fifteen minutes of fame.

That's why I don't watch the damn things. Or only watch ones with songs I already like.

Always good to stick to the classics. They're classic for a reason.

Which reminds me of my second-biggest gripe with AMVs these days: people who just title them "[series name] AMV" and don't say what the damn song is!
(On the other hand, I've also learned of the existence of some decent bands I would otherwise never have heard of from AMVs, so it pays to be experimental. But sometimes it backfires and you get a nasty earworm.)

I love classic rock, always have, but when it's all I listen to, I don't find out about new groups that I might also like.
