Pop Culture Watch: Television

I’m not watching much TV of late. Aside from the fact that it’s summer, with a lot of shows on hiatus or cancelled, it’s also a bit tricky when you’re usually getting ready to head off to work at 9:45 p.m. And truth be told, there’s not a lot of stuff on that I even like.

Still, I have managed to catch a few things…

One new, one ressurected, two that never died, several dead and making me nostalgic, one finished and still beloved. )

television, reviews, noir

Never got hooked on Leverage, even if it stars the evil lawyer from Angel.

When is Futurama coming back? I've seen some of the movies, but I've heard almost no news about when new episodes will be airing.

The Daily show and The Colbert Report are good, but at least to me it seems like they were far nastier with the Bush jokes than they have been so-far with the Obama jokes. *shrugs* Maybe it's just me.

I'm a bit odd when it comes to Star Trek. I know most fans loved TNG and DS9, and hated Voyager, but I was the other way around. Personally Voyager is my favorite, but maybe that's because I was just a little too young to have watched many of the TNG and DS9 episodes when they were first on.

And I still need to start watching Noir, but that's a bit hard to do when my computer is constantly being used by either my workaholic uncle, my Facebook and MySpace addicted teen cousin, or my "I must blog about every little thing that happens on this trip" aunt.

Took me a while to notice that was the same guy, since he's changed his look and is playing a different character type.

I have no idea. They only just know signed the contracts for the voice actors, so they haven't even started making the new episodes yet. It'll probably be quite a while.

They definitely mock Obama whenever he does something dumb or odd, but he doesn't provide them with the sort of material that the Bush administration did. I mean, compared to having a former gay porn actor playing schill in the audience for the press secretary, the Obama administration's faux pas are all rather mild.
