Sorry for my recent absence, flisties. Last week the hubs and I went away for the week, which I forgot to mention, him for work and me because of lack of work. I got to see the Loess Hills, which I wrote about in a fic once, so that was cool, but on the whole the trip was a mistake because I spent most of the week huddled in a miserable ball of all

I don't know how old your husband's grandfather was, but sometimes older people just make up their minds to go. My grandfather was 89 when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and he just willed himself dead within three weeks. The older I get, the better I understand this. Who would want to suffer?

Yeah, I know what you mean. He was 88, and his wife died a good ten years ago. It's just a shame he didn't get to meet either of his great-grandchildren, but such is life.

My kids have been very lucky with grandparents. They have known all four, and still have three of them, even though K is now thirty.

They even knew their great grandmother for a while.
