*furtive look* okay, I'm embarrassed to ask, but what is podfic? (embarrassed because I've seen the term hundreds of times over the last year or two and still do not know.) Is it fic about whales? Fic that whales like to read? Or something else?

It's narrated fanfiction -- fayjay recorded herself reading my story. The "pod" part comes from being able to play it on music players like ipods (similar to podcast). No whales were harmed in the recording process!

I've been mainlining FayJay's podfics because I love her voice--so graceful, such good acting--and I heard this podfic of Half-way Gone last week and SWOONED. This...it was...oh my god, it was so great I had to listen to it twice. And then I had to read the story with my eyes, too, and wow, the way you wrote Eames's narrative voice is simply stunning. FayJay's recording did it terrific justice, but all of that expressive awesomeness is right there in your prose.

Wow.

And even more awesome for me, you totally helped unlock a story I've been unable to get out for two weeks. That narrative voice really inspired me, and I wanted to say A) how great I think the story is, and B) how grateful I am for the inspiration that helped me write.
