A death in the family

 My mother's partner of eight year, Paul has died of a stroke.  I liked Paul and I respected him.  He was a nice guy and he made my mother very happy, which pleased me enormously

Oh God, I'm so sorry. Your poor mom. She must be feeling so lost and lonely. My dad died in September and my mum's still coming to terms with it, as are we all.
