Too much stuff going on, right now.  I feel like I've been running for 3 weeks.

Steph and I went up to the lake last weekend and it turned out to be a pretty relaxing weekend. I've compiled a great deal of Vegas pictures so a post is coming to recap that weekend, but it'll have to be this weekend because my evenings are full.  I got an opportunity

Do you really think the trim makes that big of a deal? I'd really like to match the stairs and the railing to the kitchen and I really don't see a need to redo all of the trim. Remember, I'd have to do all of the door jams, baseboard, and windows, too. That's a lot of work for a pretty minor amount of color.

The kitchen already doesn't match. Are you saying the trim needs to be done anyway?

If not, why would this make the difference?

I have light wood floors and dark wood trim in my main level and I think it looks nice. That's how it was installed originally. So I think if you had the lighter color stairs with the dark trim it would look fine.

Interesting. My thinking was they could be different if you don't draw attention to it or the two aren't right next to eachother. You don't think it matters at all. That's much less work for me. I like it!

I agree with Julia and Missy. :) I have light trim and dark wood furniture and I think that is okay...I also have never been bothered at Julia's house by her lighter floors and dark trim.

I would do the floors and stuff and then once those are done you'll be able to make a decision. One step at a time...

I think what's important is that they aren't so close that it looks like you were trying to match them and failed. Contrast can be good.
