Thad was running some errands to prepare for an advertising gig Ty had set for tomorrow, so he actually had the free time to schedule a quick meeting with a reporter that he'd done work for weeks ago. He wasn't really used to such a long turn around, but he figured the guy must have been busy. Fortunately, he'd done all the work on the photos that was needed back after the rodeo was done
( ... )
Laszlo stood up and shook Ty's hand. "Laszlo, please. My father is Mister Vartan and even then, he gets pissed and claims that that's his father."
Laszlo gestured towards the other seat at the table. "Thanks for agreeing to meet me. I'm visiting friends in town and let other things slide for a bit. I realize that an oversight on my part is no cause for an emergency on your part so I truly do appreciate you meeting me like this. I hope you don't mind but I'm going to order a drink. I'd love to buy you one, as well. It's my way of apologizing."
"Laszlo then. Just call me Ty, please." Ty shook his hand and sat down. "It's no problem. I had the time, and I actually didn't follow up on the assignment, so I should have done that instead of waiting. Hopefully, everything I got will give you some good shots to work with."
He smiled. "Actually, a coke would be great. I still have a job later, so I'd better not take a chance with anything alcoholic. Please do, though. The bar here's great. I used to be a bartender here, still pick up shifts once in a while when I'm needed." The server showed up, and he chatted briefly with her about her mid-terms before letting Laszlo order.
"I'm sure you did. I heard great things from my friend. Turned out that you did some photographs for an article on his company. He was very complimentary." Laszlo waited as Ty chatted and then ordered. "You have a seasonal beer on tap. I'll have that, please."
What a relief that it wasn't Taehyun as the server. That wouldn't just be awkward, that would be ridiculously awful and Robert would probably never forgive him. After the server left, Laszlo couldn't resist asking. "You were? So then you know the servers well?"
