Date: October 23, 2011 Characters: Rori Milburn, Harley Jordan Location: grocery store Status: Private Summary: Rori goes shopping and runs into someone. Completion: Incomplete
Harley needed to remember not to buy as much food this time. Not that she'd have any trouble putting away extra food, but it'd be good to save money since Thad would be all moved out pretty soon. Like. Really soon, maybe in the next few days. He was getting all his shit together and everything, what little there was, and buying more where he could. She'd even been helping him get some of it, keeping an eye out for stuff here and there
( ... )
"Not a problem," Rori said, stepping back to make sure the smaller woman had room. She grinned faintly, reminded of Ava only because Ava was so much smaller than her. "I'm all in the way and all, happens."
She hooked a thumb in her belt loop and looked at the box in the other woman's hand. "That's good stuff. I've actually managed to do it before," she said. "Well enough that my brother ate it, even." Though she wondered if Cody would eat almost anything. So far everything she'd made had been deemed edible, that she knew of.
"Yeah, I did okay with it," Harley said, eyeing the box again before putting it back in her cart. "I figure if I did it once I can do it again. Luckily I'm not cooking for anyone picky. Or anyone at all now, I guess." She shrugged. She'd never been too discriminating. It'd been an adjustment just getting used to eating regular balanced meals and shit. "My brother ate it too, but he's not picky either. Might be a little better at cooking than me, though. I never really learned anything."
"That's pretty much me, but I've been told I should expand what I can do," she said with a grin. Ava encouraged her, at least. And it was fun in her kitchen with her girlfriend. Even if she didn't always pay strict attention to the cooking.
"Cody's a bottomless hole sometimes, so I guess so long as I fill it," she joked. "Not sure either of us know a lot, but I'm trying to learn so I won't starve. Though some people try to keep me fed." Ava would, certainly, and Cody did cook sometimes too.
