Alex was on the phone with the Abbey's financial institution, since it seems the speed at which the loan was getting paid back had them alarmed at losing a source of interest, and it took him several minutes of explaining how he would make an appointment in a few weeks to discuss refinancing, once he had a chance to go over the books more thoroughly (and had consulted the property management company). He held up a hand while he tried as politely as possible to get off the phone, before using Chris as an excuse and hung up, rolling his eyes.

"I swear, if I wanted to hear the entire history of economics again, I'd go back to school." He eyed the plate in Chris's hand. "So, is that just because you're an awesome employee, or do you want another raise?" His stomach rumbled, reminding him that breakfast with Ty had been too long ago.

"My salary is perfectly acceptable for the time being, Mr. Jameson," Chris said, placing the plate on the desk before sitting down. "I do, however, believe the term awesome employee is appropriate when used in regards to myself." He smirked slightly before pushing the bottom of his pen and turning to a clean page on his notepad.

"As per usual, we should discuss the current theme nights. Are you still finding them profitable? Is there anything we need to focus on or improve?" he asked, starting the meeting with the normal topic of theme nights.

Alex gave him a look. "Mr. Jameson means you're sucking up about something. A kitchen fire? A stack of glasses and plates shattered?" He was teasing, of course, but reminding Chris to loosen up was about as effective as setting Rivkah up on a blind date ( ... )

"I don't waste time with such nonsense as 'sucking up," Chris said, wrinkling his nose in distaste. "If I want something, I'll just ask. There's been no kitchen incidents since Katie dropped the tray two weeks ago. You got that incident report, I trust ( ... )
