Thad had separated from Harley, but seriously, she was probably doing all right. He took his beer to the outskirts of the dancefloor, feeling good about things in general. He had a new job, for the next 90 days at least, a good line on a car, and he was doing the Pride thing for the first time ever, which was going better than he'd expected.

His hair was slightly damp from washing the glitter out, and he'd changed after the parade to a fresh wifebeater and jeans. Probably could've gone with something brighter. He didn't really feel like he fit in with everyone here, but no one seemed to care. Everyone was just...happy. And he could really never get enough happy lately. Whether he was watching it in a TV sitcom or being around it. And he figured he'd be tired enough tonight to actually sleep okay.

The music wasn't really his thing, but he let it wash over him anyway as he sipped his beer.

Riley danced, letting the music and the start of a buzz make her move. When the song changed, she ducked back to the bar, wanting another Corona and contemplating another tequila shot.

His beer didn't last too long, and Thad threaded his way back to the bar. It was even more crowded than it'd been on Harley's birthday, and he squeezed between two girls, one flying solo and one with her face attached to someone else's. He chuckled and rubbed a hand over his hair as he ordered a refill.

"Sorry--tight fit," he said to the girl who looked most likely to notice at the moment.

Riley smiled at the stranger, turning to give him a bit more room. "No problem! After all, I'd be a terrible person to beerblock anyone." She tugged at a string from the hem of her cutoffs as she waited to order her own beer and the shot she had decided to get after all. "I'm Riley, by the way."

"Looks like they got plenty of beer to go around in here anyway," he commented, resting an elbow on the bar as it looked like the bar staff was pretty busy and it might be a few minutes before he got his. He smiled when she introduced herself.

"Thad," he said. "Did you do the parade thing?"

After the parade, which had been an unexpected surprise for Veda, she had gone home to shower, and then went to Muse to help out behind the bar. She was surprised that Fort Worth had a Pride celebration in October. In Portland, and in Denver, Pride was in the summer, but she guessed it made since, since it was god awful hot during the summer here. She always loved going to Pride parades, and in her opinion, after parties for gay events were always the best.

She had met Caleb a few days before when she replied to an add for help during the time of the Pride festivities. With a few shifts at Muse, and a few at the restaurant near by, she'd be set. Tonight she was mostly just helping out, getting a feel for the place. Veda's night promised to be full of washing dishes and pouring the easy drinks. The only thing she regretted about working on a night like this was not being able to dance all night, but she enjoyed watching people anyway, and bar tending was a great way to meet new people.
