It was days like today that Laine wanted to believe there was some sort of scheduling god that prevented the company from doing rehearsals on Sunday. In reality it probably just came down to the fact that they were in the studio six days out of the week and everybody needed at least one day to recover and lick their wounds so to speak.

Either way it gave her an excuse to bum around B Side for part of the day. Nothing else she wanted to do. Sure, she could do class planning, but what was the fun in that? And it was still early in the year; Laine was still on the most basic of things with the girls. Didn’t take much to organize.

She had already finished up what the original purpose of coming in had been, new drum heads for her toms. Now she was just messing around with the kit that was set up, probably annoying the ever living hell out of the rest of the customers.

Audrey ran her hands lovingly over a set of headphones that would set her back more than two hundred, mentally flipping through her budget, rearranging and shuffling priorities. On her normal salary from gigs, she'd have been homeless by twenty-five if she hadn't learned how to juggle finances, as flaky as her family probably thought she was.

And she had more than enough sets to last her a while. She pulled the headphones off her ears, her eyes going wide when she realized someone had been on the drums in here without her even hearing it. "So worth the money," she murmured even as she put them back on the display rack.

She walked over curiously, checking out the woman who was fiddling with the set. "Nice," she said. "You're making me miss it." She paused. "Shit, sorry--you might not want to be disturbed. But then, you're causing kind of a disturbance yourself, huh?" She smiled winningly.

If Laine were looking to replace her entire kit, this would be the one she did it with. The sound was fantastic. Tapering off, she shifted both the sticks to one hand. “No worries, and yeah I kind of am.” She replied, returning the smile.

“Reckon I shouldn’t get too attached to these anyways. No way I can purchase them.” She made a face. “Just nice to be able to really make some noise. Can’t do that with my kit at home. Neighbors.” She shifted on the chair, “You play? Or played?"

"It's never that much of a disturbance with people who know what they're doing." She winked. "Of course, I used to come here as a teenager and I was definitely causing the bad kind of disturbance. Sitting right where you are, probably." She laughed.

"I know the feeling. I don't know why I come here so much, it just depresses me half the time," she said. "Ah, apartment life, my sympathies. I know it well. Even harder when you're staying with other people. I've definitely worn out my welcome a few places."

Audrey nodded. "Since high school, though I don't often take the time for it anymore. Haven't had the space to set up my kit either, until recently. How long have you been at it?"
