Backpack on, camera bag slung over her shoulder, Tegan made her way down Magnolia. It was cold - too cold, really! But she was hoping to get some pictures of people out in the flurries. She was glad she'd decided against bringing Dexter with her. The Boston Terrier was normally extremely helpful in getting people to relax and let her take natural shots, but he was not built to be out in the cold for long periods.

Her phone buzzed in her pocket, signaling a text message, and she glanced down to pull it out and look at it. During the few seconds she took her eyes off the sidewalk, she managed to plow into someone.

"Oh god, I'm so sorry," she said, apologizing to the woman immediately.

Allison tightened her scarf around her neck as she dug her free hand, the one not holding the folder of 'help wanted' posters, into her pocket to keep warm. She was just heading out into the blustery cold again after a small, not to mention warm lunch break - she really hoped someone would answer the ad today. She had a lot to do before she would be able to go home to enjoy a relaxing evening with one of her best friends.

She locked the shop door and took a step back just as another body hit hers. "Oh!" She turned to face the entity, thankful her hand had tightened around the folder and didn't allow it to drop. "Oh no - it's okay. I'm sorry too, I didn't watch where I was going." She held the folder to her chest with a grin at the young woman.

Her hands flew automatically to the camera bag sitting at her hip - thankfully, it hadn't gotten squished between the two of them. Text message forgotten, she offered a simple smile in response to the grin - it wasn't the usual frown or scowl she got from most folk, so she relaxed.

She put a hand up to her hand-knit hat and tugged it down a bit farther on her head. Her dreads were rather bulky and required a bigger-than-usual hat to cover them. She had bits of beads and other things she found interesting decorating her hair, magpie-like. A couple of quick touches assured her that nothing had been dislodged.

"Two blind drivers," she joked. She noticed the way the woman was clutching a folder protectively to her chest. She nodded at it. "Precious cargo?" she asked, hand patting her camera bag.

Allison nodded her head with a soft laugh. "Indeed. No harm done though," she smiled then looked at the folder she was holding to her chest. "Sort of. Nothing life threatening but -- well, here you can have one if you're interested," she smiled and took a sign from the folder before she handed it to her. "I'm opening an art gallery and cafe called Forty-Two Cups," she motioned to the building she had just left then continued, "right here actually. I'm looking for anyone who may be interested in a part time/full time job, or hopefully even artists who are interested in setting up an exhibit." It was here Allison noticed the camera bag hanging off of her shoulder. "Oh, are you a photographer or is it something for fun?"

Marcella could say, with certainty, that she really, really needed a job. The cost of living on her own (even with a roommate) was stacking up against her. She could afford to buy food and other few necessities but she wanted other things. Like a replacement pair of jeans to the ones that she had spilled coffee all over on her way home from class yesterday. Marci could always ask her dad for more money, sure, but she didn't want to bother him with it. Besides, it was high time she got a job already. She had the time for it and needed the experience.

That was the reason she'd been wandering around town all day. It was cold and she was irritated (this was just a bad time of month for her anyway) and there hadn't been a single Help Wanted sign anywhere. Even the bakery that had one last week was already gone. She sighed, rounded a corner and stopped dead when she saw a blonde woman, about ten feet away, hanging a sign with some very choice words ( ... )

Allison was starting to think hanging up signs in the cold wasn't the smartest decision she has made lately. She had a few more to hang up before she could make her way back to the shop and get warm. She really should have waited to hang these up when it didn't seem as though she was walking through a freezer the whole time. She dug her gloved fingers into her pocket and curled up into her coat. She turned away from the just hung up sign and started walking again.

It was a minute or so later when she realized someone was calling for her. She stopped and turned back around, seeing the young woman running after her. "Sorry - what was that?" she smiled, not having completely heard what she had said.

"Sorry," Marcella apologized, feeling embarrassed for chasing after the woman. "But you were hanging that help wanted sign and I was just wondering, were you the owner of the cafe...?" She trailed off, not really sure how to ask the question without sounding completely daft. "I suppose I should just call but, I mean--well, I'm interested."

Allison could feel her hopes starting to rise at the turn of events. She could really use the help, hint the Help Wanted signs. "You are? Oh wonderful! I am the owner actually," she smiled as she held out her hand to the young woman to shake. "My name is Allison Rose; what is yours?"
