Maggie smiled bemusedly as she looked at her cell phone. And here she'd thought she was too old for pool parties. "I'm too old for swimsuits," she told Zumba, which is what she'd named her bird after the creature starting bouncing his head one morning to the work out routine she liked to put on TV when Stephen wasn't around. He tilted his head at her, making a soft sound and sidling toward the bars and her, knowing he was being addressed.

Might as well reply, though, she thought. She'd go, if only to get out of the house.

I'll come for a bit. Can I bring anything? Might bring Stephen along if you don't mind. Thank you!

It took Brendon a few minutes to get back to Maggie's message. When he read her message over, he smiled. He was glad she would make it out for a little bit. The woman had made him dinner a couple of times now over the last couple of months and he felt it was time to return the favor.

Just bring your wonderful self, darling. I don't mind at all if you bring Stephen. The more the merrier!

Maggie smiled as she rechecked her message, the faintly sad smile that seemed to have become a permanent fixture on her in the last five years, even more so in the past months. She was glad to be going out, but it did feel rather odd. She tended to operate between work and home, occasionally going down to visit with Brendon or sit at the bar.

Wonderful. I'll be there. If you need any side dishes or nibbles, just let me know.

Graham glanced at his phone as it vibrated on the desk, catching the id that read Brendon and wondering what the hell his friend might want. Shifting to kick his feet up on the desk and recline, he grabbed his phone quickly reading over the text. A pool party? So maybe he was going to let him meet Rico after all. With a faint smirk gracing his features Graham typed out a quick reply.

Pool party, huh? So you've deemed me worthy of meetin' this friend of yours?

Graham hit send, pausing before sending another quick message.

Do you know if my better half is plannin' on bein' there?

He could just have easily sent a text to Courtney, but Brendon would probably know the answer anyway.

Brendon chuckled when he read over Graham's first message then his second. Of course he would be wondering if Courtney planned on making it.

Yeah, it took a considerable amount of debate but I finally decided there wasn't any harm in allowing you to meet him. :-p

He quickly wrote out a second message.

She's going to try and make it. Have to see if there's anyone willing to take her place on Friday at the bar.

Graham laughed at Brendon's reply to his first message.

Wasn't any harm? You sure about that?

Receiving Brendon's second message, Graham couldn't help but grin.

This is Cory, who are we kidding. She'll find someone to take her shift.

Brendon chuckled at Graham's first response and quickly responded to it.

Of course. :-p If anything, he knows me rather well by now to know what kind of man I am.

Graham was right. Courtney would of course, find someone to take her shift. Especially considering it wasn't set for a Saturday night and therefore she would be more inclined to take Friday night off.

Of course she will - especially since it's a Friday night and not Saturday.

Shosh was almost ashamed at how quickly she grabbed for her phone when it buzzed on the kitchen counter. The bags of groceries forgotten as she checked the ID to see who was sending the message. Her heart dropped a little when she saw that the message was from Brendon and not Jase. Fuck, she still couldn't get used to the way she looked forward to hearing from him, or being around him. But she was curious to know what Brendon would be texting her about. Her mouth quirked up in a faint smirk when she read over the invite for a pool party.

Now Brendon, if you wanted to see me in a bikini all you have to do is ask.

She hit send on the first message, hoping he would take it for what it was; A joke! There was really only one guy she wanted to see her in a bikini, and his name started with a 'J'. As she thought that it dawned on her that maybe she should invite Jase, they were kind of dating, and Fuck. She really liked the idea of showing him off, and well the whole shirtless part would hurt either.

Going to have to keep your hands to ( ... )

Darling, if that's all I had to do... ;)

Brendon also meant for that to be taken as a joke! He was really only interested in one person romantically and he was certainly not female. He chuckled at the second text message.

Are you saying that I no longer have any chance? Shame that. ;) I think I can manage though. See you both on Friday! Is little Sloane coming as well?

Mmmmhmmm. I'm just a little easy.

Shosh knew she was safe in sending that text to Brendon, he knew her well enough to know she was fucking kidding.

That is precisely what I'm saying. ;) And yes, the munchkin will be coming, and she might have a friend coming with her.

Brendon checked the first then second message that came in from Shosh and chuckled. He knew she didn't need a warning but he sent off a response anyway in case she didn't want Sloane around it. He had a living room and game room that Sloane and her friend could play or watch movies in should they get bored.

I say good for you then, darling. About bloody time! Look forward to seeing the little munchkin again. There will be alcohol around so thought I'd warn you.

Lupe was in the middle of a phone call with an informant (currently trying to shake her down for more than their customary 20 bucks for some information on a minor drug ring that might not even pan out) when her personal phone buzzed. She snatched it up off her desk, letting the guy chatter as she read the text. Smiling slightly, she tapped out a reply. She never knew when work was going to drag her away, but it was nice to at least attempt a social life.

Adults only, si? Let me see if I can get a sitter for Mattie and if so I'll be there for sure. Thanks for thinking of me. -L

Brendon picked up his phone when it vibrated on the table. He read over the text and smiled before sending off a response.

If you would like, you can bring him along as well. A friend is bringing her daughter as well. :) There will be some alcohol available in case that's something you don't want him around. Either way, I hope to see you there!

He knew some parents didn't like the idea of bringing their children around alcohol or anyone drinking so he felt he should warn parents just in case. Yes, their children are invited to come out but there will be some alcohol on site. Of those he invited personally, no one drank heavily so they were safe from any kind of drunken activity.
