The morning had gone pretty well. Rita had been disappointed but understanding when Ty talked to her about going to a freelance status, and his new position would start next week. The thought of basically quitting the Metro Weekly left him feeling a little melancholy because he'd been there for years, and he had friends who worked there, so it was hard focusing on the excitement of being able to concentrate on Shutterbug without having to balance the two ( ... )

Alex had been hard pressed to concentrate that morning. It was a big day for Ty. He talked to his boss, his show was starting, and really, that would have been enough. But Ty was wound up, and Alex had the perfect thing to unwind him. He hoped.

"Baby." He reached over and took Ty's hand, kissing his fingers. "If we don't do this now, while no one's watching you, then how much harder do you think it will be come Friday?" He thought he sounded fairly reasonable, but he'd lay it on thick. "Besides, I've been dying to see which ones you picked. You gonna torture me some more?" He made sad puppy eyes at Ty.

"Oh, that's just not fair," Ty muttered, trying to scowl at Alex. "You can't give me The Eyes. Not when I'm being anxious and weird about this." He sighed and leaned over to brush a kiss against Alex's mouth. "Unfortunately, you're right. I need to do this or Saturday night will be impossible. God, I've invited like everyone I know, I swear."

He stole another kiss. "No more torture. I said you could see them today, so let's go before I lose my nerve." Ty knew he'd be okay once he got inside, but it was actually making it inside that was the tough part. He got out of the car and took Alex's hand before they entered the gallery, squeezing it as he scanned the downstairs area.

"That's exactly why you need The Eyes. If Tigger was here, he'd be doing it too." Alex said, kissing him back. "Be anxious and wierd, but do it anyway." Ty was the bravest person he knew, and would be fine, but he needed a little reassuring and coddling like the next person.

"So there will definitely be people there who love what you've pulled together." Alex pointed out, kissing Ty back and climbing out of the car.

He took Ty's hand, making sure to enter beside him, rather than drag him in, or be dragged in. They were equals in all things.

Alex looked around, ignoring people and the cafe in favor of scoping out what Ty had put together. He grinned at him. "Congratulations, baby. It looks great."

Madi had heard about the opening and with her new schedule she was determined to get out and be sociable when she could. So sure she really wanted to be at home soaking in the tub but she would enjoy a nice glass of wine and maybe make a new friend or two before hitting the tub.

When she had lived in Berkley, they had gone to all the openings, sometimes just for the drinks but moving to Texas had made her a bit of a hermit. Stopping to admire piece, Madi let her imagination run away with it and smiled.

Allison had come up to check in on the exhibit and smiled when she spotted a woman actually taking the time out to look at the piece. She wandered over after a minute or two of taking to another couple and smiled. "It's something else, isn't it?" she asked, not too loud as to startle the other woman.

Madi was brought out of her thoughts by a voice next to her. Smiling she nodded. "They are stunning. Who knew a camera could capture something so simple and make it stunning." She sighed.

"Do you know if the pieces are going to be for sale?"

Allison smiled, she really had to agree with that sometimes. "I can't agree more." And to think - Tyler had been worried that no one would like his stuff.

"Actually, I believe he is. I can give you his card if you would like to contact him about them. He will also be around on Saturday for the reception if you would prefer to speak with him in person," she said with a warm smile.

Rivkah was on the run from here to there, but she made certain to take a long lunch so she could see Ty's show open. She planned on going to the reception, of course, but had learned from Isaac's shows that receptions were a lot more about talking than looking at the art. This way she could have a quiet moment to look at the photos.

She stepped into the coffee shop with an appreciative sniff. Everything smelled better with coffee.

Allison looked over and gave the woman a smile. "Hello, how are you doing today?" So far the day had turned out to be a good one, albeit as busy as she had anticipated earlier.

"Fine, thanks." Rivkah smiled. "I'm looking for Tyler Ross' show? I'm a friend and I just wanted to get a quick peek before the reception."

"Oh, great!" Allison smiled, she was sure Tyler would be happy to note that friends were already coming out to see his show. "A few of his pieces are down here but the majority of it is upstairs in the gallery," she said with a smile, pointing over toward the stairs.

Caleb was afraid that he wouldn't be able to make it on Saturday. It wasn't like he had to be at Muse every night the club was open; he knew how to delegate. But it would only be his second weekend open, so he'd decided to drop by on Ty's first day, just in case he couldn't get away for a bit. Not to be all mother hen about Muse, but.

He hadn't been back to Forty-Two Cups since Tegan's opening, and the place looked nice as ever. He smiled when he noted the title on the poster as he walked in.

Allison looked toward the door as she came down and moved away from the stairs. She smiled at the man who had walked in. She hadn't seen him since opening day but that was okay - he had just recently opened his own business so she could understand the being busy. "Good afternoon," she greeted him with an easy smile.

Caleb saw the owner again, the one who'd greeted him his first time here and who'd introduced him to Tegan. "Afternoon," he said, walking over to her with a grin. "Looks fantastic in here. You're making a name for yourself with these showings I think, right along with the artists."

Coming from him after seeing Muse, she took that as a huge compliment. "Thank you very much, Mr. Young. I'm afraid that at some point, I won't fine anyone to fill up the space," Allison laughed before she shook her head. "Oh! I was out at Muse on Friday evening! It's really fantastic. I can't wait to see what other movies and productions you bring in."

Rori spent the morning at Iron Hollow, taking care of the refugees and her own babies. However, in the afternoon, she decided before Ainsley could tell her to take a rest that she'd go in to the city and take a look at that gallery that the photographer had told her about.

She'd changed her shirt--she kept a couple of extras hanging in her truck, if she had to be presentable for somewhere else--but she hoped she wasn't completely dressed wrong for this type of place. Her jeans were still clean, but she wore a worn set of cowboy boots and her clean button up shirt was tucked in, the plaid pattern girlish and pretty, and her hat was still perched on her head until she took it off self consciously as she went into the place. This was not her type of place, usually.

She wandered in, looking around curiously, hoping that this would prove a style fit or something. She really didn't want to work hard to find another person, honestly.

Allison looked over when the door opened and smiled warmly. "Good afternoon, how are you doing today?"

"Afternoon," Rori said, feeling mildly self conscious as she entered. Cultural events were definitely not her usual fare, but they weren't completely outside her experience, she supposed. "I'm good, thanks. Yourself?" she asked. She glanced around; it seemed like a real nice place. And ooh, coffee shop sort of thing.

"I'm doing very well, thank you," she said. "We just opened our new exhibit featuring Tyler Ross' urban and rural photos if you're interested in viewing them. The majority of them are upstairs on the second floor while a few color photographs are down here. We also have coffee and pastries for sale as well if you're interested," she said warmly. Allison knew quite a few people were showing up specifically to see his photographs, which made her extremely happy.
