Rikku was nineteen years old today! Actually, she was nineteen years yesterday, but she was nineteen today, too, and she'd be nineteen tomorrow. She was going to be nineteen for the next several months.

And, sooner or later, the smell of... was that Windex, or just whiskey?

The smell of something that had alcohol somewhere inside of it was going to pervade Reno's senses, and instead of continuing to try to sleep, he was going to blink awake, stare at the ceiling for a minute, go, "Huh," and then ooze out of bed.

Time to make his way to the kitchen.

"Morning," he mumbled as he rubbed some sleep from his eyes. The actual situation would settle into his brain in a second. Once he had a moment to take this all in around the morning fuzz.

"Morning," Rikku smiled, bouncing up to steal a good-morning kiss. "Breakfast is going to take another ten minutes, but there's orange juice. Why are there feathers in your kitchen?"

Because there had been a pile. And Mako didn't seem the type to molt.

Mmm. Kisses. Kisses and breakfast on the way, and hey, there was orange juice. Nothing the matter with orange juice, really, was there?

"Ducks," Reno replied, grinning at her when said kissing was through. "Never a dull moment, havin' Rookies."

Pause. Blink. Let the scenery soak in.

"Is that an empty bottle of vodka on the counter, Rikku?"

"A prank?" she asked. "I've never used ducks for a prank. That sounds like fun."

Rikku peered at the counter innocently. "Sure looks like it," she agreed. "The one next to it, that's rum. I mean, it was rum. It said 'rum' on it, anyway."
