Rikku had been surprised at waking up to find out that yesterday had happened, but that was good because it meant Jude wasn't a kitty and she had new tunes and her Comic Book teachers apparently knew the secret to universal enlightenment and supreme mellow and maybe that was why they were allowed to teach? Huh. Weird.

Valentine had to talk to someone. Valentine had a little red book on his head, and he had to talk to someone. At this point, it really didn't matter what he talked about. But he was back from nowhere and his mind had been swimming and he had to make sure that, despite all of his mistakes, people here were still alive and there and willing to deal with him.
So he knocked on Rikku's door. Rikku talked well enough.

"It's open!" Rikku called out, head bopping in time to the music, and she looked up as the door opened and her jaw dropped when she saw the figure in her doorway.

"Valentine!?!" she gasped, and then she jumped up and dashed over to him, giving him a rib-crushing sort of hug. "Don't you ever scare me like that again!"

Valentine didn't protest at the hug, really, even if it was the sort of smooshy crunching that normally made him cringe. He had somewhat expected this sort of reception from Rikku, but now that he was there, he really had no idea what else to say, and really only one thing seemed fitting.
"I'm sorry," he mumbled.
He really was.

"Oh!" Rikku bounced a little and flailed. "No, no, don't be ... don't be sorry, I'm just ... I didn't mean to yell, you know? I just ..."
