No, they're Christmas tree ornaments! You string the beads onto one long wire, coil it into a circle, and then unravel into a Christmas tree shape, the beads representing the ornaments hanging on the tree. I just haven't looped hanging string through their tops so maybe that's why you didn't realize they were also ornaments.
