I'm having fun!

The day before I left for Ireland, I went to put on a bracelet my mom had made for me and the string broke. It's just a string of beads and I knew there was a bead shop right across from the library (where I was headed anyway), so I scooped up the beads and headed for the store and asked them what I should do. They suggested I ditch the clasp and ( Read more... )

The beads are lovely, and I think if the necklace is the correct length for you, you should stop there. You are the one who has to wear it, after all. :)

Thanks! I liked the color too. Bought some more this afternoon, and some other colors as well. ;)

Beading is a lot of fun. And if the length is right, it's finished.

It is fun! I think I've gone off the loopy end. Bought more beads today - I'm going to be beading for a while. :P

Those beads are pretty. You know, I had two necklaces in the span of two days break on me. But the necklace part for one was actually string and the other one was a leather chord. I didn't even think of going to a bead store to see if I could get them fixed. Both of them do have beads.

It sounds like you're finished with your necklace. I'd love to see pics of it on you. :)

I think I only thought of it because I knew the bracelet had been self-made to begin with and it was literally a strand of beads. Had it been bought, or more complicated/designed, I wouldn't have thought to go to a bead store eather. Bead stores are totally fun though, and they've got string, leather, pretty much a lot of things. I don't know what your necklace looks like or how complicated it would be to put back together, but it may be worth going to a bead store and asking. They're quite helpful.

I'll try to take some pics with my palm. They come out grainy, but better than none. :)

I've done beading before, and it is easy. My mom made me two pairs of beaded dangle earrings for Christmas and I wear them ALL THE TIME. And all they are is six beads strung on a gold wire and attached to a French hook earring.
