As I appear to have about half a dozen people on my friendslist at the mment that all have an IT background and who are all looking for work, can I link to this in my LJ?

... in fact, I will make it "public" to make that easier.

Thanks - I'll link - it might get some techie-types interested
(not for me though, it's a bit of a long commute from West Wales to London *g*)

... we don't have any long distance commute jobs at the moment ...

... (we've just put a second author into our Cambridge/Milton office and we're looking for Authors for the Bangalore office but I don't think the commute is any easier for those).

As the Technical Author jobs require being "embedded" with the technical teams, and most of those are in London, I'd expect the two new tech author jobs (and the project manager job) to be located in London.

I can write in English but I know very little about programming. Besides, it would have to pay a lot (30K minimum) to persuade me to adopt a London lifestyle...

I don't know what the top salary is, but I'd imagine that the number you state is very reasonable (depending on experience and qualifications) and for an experienced author with the right background, then I'd expect you could ask for more.

Don't tempt me!
Nah, it would probably take a lot more to move into central London. I'd have to give up my car if I wanted to live somewhere convenient as I don't fancy a long commute with thousands of others and there are many other things to consider, too.

I have no experience in creating documentation, just translating it and only relevant qualifications.

I'd be interested, but don't know whether I have any of the right qualifications (do 2 A-levels make any difference? 33 years ago?). However, I can write in good grammatical English with good spelling, and I understand computer-speak reasonably well.

CV emailed. May not be any use, but I need a job. (I still have one, but don't want it any more.)

I've just lobbed my cv in your direction. As mentioned elsewhere, the salary would need to be pretty good, but I am a tech author with 20 years experience, quite a lot of that in telecomms.

Any further news on this? Have they found someone? Is there an email address or 'phone number I could send a polite follow-up enquiry to?

Or a website where I could find out more about the company?
