There was one place, though, that she'd always had good luck in. "Good luck" mostly meaning she didn't automatically regret stepping into it, at least. The aquatic center was vast enough that nothing was ever forced, and if she went at a particular time at night it was usually empty.
That was, until tonight. She'd entered before she realized anyone was there. Dropped her towel and made her way towards the deep end where the diving board was, then hesitated at the movement in the dimly lit water. Hands on her hips, she waited for the dark form to surface.
"Evening."
