Matsumoto Rangiku was not a weak woman by any stretch of the imagination. She could in fact, be down right frightening if given the right incentive. One doesn't get to be a fukutaicho of one of the Gotei 13 by being a push over after all. She had earned her rank fair and square and while she wasn't overly fond of the paperwork that came with it ( Read more... )

The door opened a moment later and a blurry eyed Nickov stood in the doorway. Soon as his gaze focused, he smiled broadly, "Rangiku" She was always a welcome sight in this place and he loved her deeply enough that it hurt to wake up and find himself without her by his side or wander the hotel and not encounter her.

But she didn't look too happy. His ears flattened and his smile faded, "Are you all right?"

Shaking her head she moved into his arms, wrapping her own around his waist as she buried her face into his warm chest. No, it wasn't the man she wanted. But he was a person she loved dearly and he was more than enough to ease the ache flowing through her.

"Can I stay a while with you? Please?" She asked him softly.

"Of course. You are always welcome" he said, wrapping his arms and tail around her, drawing her inside his room.

He sat down on the couch and had her climb into his lap and rest her head under his.

Rangiku cuddled close to him as they settled down together. She basked in his warmth and his love, letting it fill the emptiness she felt from missing home and friends. She did love Nickov and she was so grateful to have met him here in this forsaken hotel. He was one of the few that kept her sane while trapped within it's walls.

No one loved her. That was what she'd been told, what she'd believed for a very long time. Even after breaking the hold Wiseman held over her, she couldn't accept that things had ever been any different. She'd wanted her freedom, that's why she went on her own way, but in so doing she weakened the seal placed upon her true memories. It had taken a couple years, but she'd finally begun to sort things out ( ... )

Rangiku stepped inside, blindly. The door closed on its own and it was then her sparkling blues met the red of the woman before her.

"Black Lady? I'm terribly sorry to intrude...I was..I was just looking for someone to spend some time with."

Of course she recognized the woman right away, but she hadn't expected anyone to step into what she'd told herself was some kind of self imposed exile. She could be lazy at times, but laying around sleeping for days on end was something new. Black Lady didn't know how she felt anymore, she didn't even know if she wanted to use that name either. It wasn't her real name, it was given to her by the Black Moon clan, a group she had cut ties with some time ago. She thought it sounded nice and intimidating though.

"Just Lady," she replied, turning so her feet hung over the edge of the bed. What should she call herself? Himeko? A name she'd created for herself at least, but it wasn't really her name at all. She yawned and stretched her arms over her head, then shrugged. "You can stay here if you want."

Rangiku nodded to the other woman. "I thank you."

She moved to the other side of the room, sitting down on the bed beside the pinkette. She was silent for a while, but it was not uncomfortable. In the end she smiled softly at the woman beside her.

"So, how have you been?"
