Marry the night || New Year's Eve || "Sir, I would like some Catnip Tequila."

Dec 30, 2011 16:10

It was on the eve of the New Year that Sebastian decided to walk around the premises of the hotel and explore. Ho-hum. The demon is bored and felt apathetic and disconnected as of late due to having no worthy master to serve as a bait. There's a certain buzz of excitement in the air. Many people and souls can feel it stirring in the atmosphere. ( Read more... )

This wasn't how Karkat had planned to spend his time welcoming in the new solar sweep, but ever since he'd agreed to play SGRUB with the other trolls nothing had exactly gone as planned. While he'd seen his share of weird goings on with making a universe and helping the human kids through their session, he didn't think the game had the power to transfer him to this weird place, which seemed determined to get him to pail with as many humans as possible before he could leave. It was disgusting and infuriating, and it left Karkat in an even fouler mood than normal ( ... )

Sebastian is sitting close-by next to him. He drank on impassively, as if the situation is nothing and it was just another day in this hellhole. The drink did nothing to phase him. Sure, he's being observant of other people, but he took a look at the other man (or rather the other troll, a worthwhile species that humans widely feared) as another grumpy customer. Nothing remarkable.

Sebastian is just minding his own business. (Maybe a little drunk in his own reveries of memories that spanned eons).

Meanwhile, the bartender isn't phased, that's for sure. He has served many Creatures of the Night from across the Multiverse. It was just a troll. Nothing different or special. The bartender handed Karkat a menu to persue and told him to order a different drink filled with pretty pictures of bottles of the finest whiksey, liquors, cocktails, and etc that is maybe to his liking.

Karkat snatched the menu from the bartender and skimmed over it, looking at all the different drinks the bar offered. He made a bit of a face at most of them, and a few minutes later he just shut the menu. Half of the drinks he didn't recognize, and after the fiasco with the last drink he didn't want to risk drinking something else that would cause his tastebuds to burn.

"Fuck it. I'm not as thirsty as I thought." he growled, shoving the menu away. "Not like you humans know how to make a decent drink in the first place."

He glanced over at the human - or at least what looked like a human - sitting next to him and sneered. "What the hell are you looking at, nookwhiffer?"

Frustration and anger with the hotel is typically a common reaction among the residents. The demon stirred his drink around calmly with a straw and he seems awfully detached. It was that or his favorite drink made him mellow.

Oh wait, the noisy troll is asking him a question and demands some attention. The handsome butler looked into his direction.

The strange human was wearing a black butler suit. It was highly unusual because he looks like he is suppose to serve someone of great Victorian English nobility in some manor far, far away. "Do you mind if I recommend you a better drink?" Sebastian finally spoke, and it was a gorgeous, velvetly Brit voice.

Tasuki wasn’t entirely sure he understood the New Year as other people did since he came from Ancient China and they tended to celebrate later the following month or earlier the month after. What did he care about it, it dredged up god awful childhood memories of his teasing older sisters picking on their adorable baby brother…though Aidou didn’t have this same sentiment. Then there was his mother’s New Years smother, not hug, no, never. She just wrapped her arms around him and let her gigantic boobs drop right on top of his head, gravity works. A traumatic nightmare the Suzaku Warrior would not forget. No, forget New Years ( ... )

The man sitting next to him caught the old demon's attention. While the demon is dour and grim due to feeling extremely fed up in being in the hotel for so long, his demeanor is a stark contract to the Suzaku's warrior boisterous, loud behavior. Some people found Tasuki's behavior obnoxious, that's for sure, that some of them leave quickly for the quieter parts of the bar.

But it was his passionate energy for life that caught Sebastian's eye. Since the old demon can see the soul's people, he can see Tasuki's soul very clear. It was full of red and fire and a light that he couldn't comprehend, but he was drawn to it with fascination.

In a way, Sebastian envy him. Humans have so much spirit. He merely drank on his catnip tequila quietly into the night, not minding much of his new company and purely accidental drinking friend.

For every person his obnoxious joviality drove away, there were clearly more who were attracted by his celestial energy. It didn't bother the redhead at all who was generally a friendly drunk unless he was intentionally pissed off. In any case, as long as the bartender remained tolerant enough to bring him more to drink, the the redhead didn't need any other friends ( ... )

Sebastian regarded the other man for a moment. He took his time to think of an answer before he say something. What can he say? That a demon's relationship to humans are usually fated to be symbiotic, parasitic, and self-destructive? (And for that reason, the demon often restrain his passion and held it back.) Not that it's anything new, because humans goes through the same plight to each other as well ( ... )

Helping around with passing out drinks to those who seem to be in need of it, Lenalee caught sight of the butler that seemed to be drinking his loneliness away. Who would of thought in a hotel full of sin there could be a taste of solidarity amongst individuals.

Still, she mentioned that she was about to go on her break and made her way over towards the butler and set another order of his drink down for him, just in case. "Are you alright?" She asked loud enough to be heard over the music as she looked on with concern amethyst eyes.

"What are you doing here all by yourself?"

By then, the catnip tequila took quite an effect on the butler and he feels a little out of it. Being a supernatural being, he has a high tolerance more than humans do. A red flush streaked across his cheeks. He began singing to the loud music to himself.

"Hm?" He looked up to the pretty girl and trying to be charming, smiled to her. "I'll be all right, I gonna marry the night~."

Seeing the flush made her blink curiously but once he seemed to be more so lucid, she could tell what exactly was wrong. She had seen the Science Department get drunk before so she knew the telltale signs.

Offering a small smile, she gave a soft laugh and nodded. "I see. Will you need help returning to your room? I'd hate for you to hurt yourself."

Sebastian took a good look at the lovely lady. Goodness, she looked would like Ciel if Ciel grew up and was raised as a girl.

Oh wait. Reality check. It must the drink. He pinched his cheek to get his vision gets into focus. Catnip tequila is really strong stuff. It is a pretty bartender girl...? Hnnngh.

He waved his hand off. "I can do it myself." He assured her, his British speech slightly slurred. "Besides, I don't want to..." Give her the wrong signal? "Mess up."

Sebastian lazily drinking his drink when the elf woman got his attention. And she certainly did caught his attention. He turned his attention to the beautiful elf woman dancing by the floor and then mosey over to sit next to him.

"I...oh." Oh my. He's not sure how to answer to that, because he was blown away by her choice of costume and the surprising beauty that comes from within and is certainly showing on the outside. "Asha, was it you?"

Laughter is shown only in her emerald eyes. 'This one has always been herself, Elgar-arla. Are you just discovering this?' She teases, but there is pleased purring in his mind circling as if she were a cat twining about him.

A rueful smile played upon his lips. A part of him hopes that his hellish life will get better. "I'm trying to learn how to discover new things everyday from humans and other nonhumans."

Swaying a little, the drink got a little bit to his head, but he understood what he felt so smashed and floored. It's not the drink, it's the way she dressed and dances. "Has anybody ever told you that when you danced like that, you looked gorgeous?"

Ratchet wasn't having that great of a New Years Eve. Truth be told he didn't get this celebration. A year had come and gone and now they were celebrating a new one? Well of course, every planet in every galaxy rotates around a sun. One revolution, one year. That was how it used to be. Now there was universal standard time and a year was just so many days before the next one started. It wasn't much celebrated anymore back home. No need for one planet to celebrate one rotation. Your planet survive another year, whoopee ( ... )

Sebastian is swirling his glass of catnip tequila around in reverie thinking about the past. Thinking about his home in Hell. Thinking about being damned hungry all the time and plot how to get the next meal. Thinking about when a silly human would just call him and get it over with. To feel this patience was tiring.

And just plain thinking and being bored out of his skill. When you're a demon not employed by a Master, demons can live long, eternally boring lazy lives. Nothing is all perfect in this Sebastian Michaelis's world.

It was when the Lombax spoke up that the old demon turned and veered his head around to look at him. A small pause as his thoughts stopped, crashed, and becomes a trainwreck due to the tequila.

It's a cat. It's a ferret. It is both? Can he take him on his lap and pet it? And yet, he wasn't sure it was a cat or a ferret or both. He just doesn't know! (But he'll soon find out as he has ideas for a good conversation for the night.)

A small pause and then he finally responded. "Why no. Help yourself."

Ratchet waited for the man to respond as he got that look. Yeah, he'd seen it before and he was sure he'd see it again. That look of both slight amusement and curiosity. He was sure the man was wondering just what he was and it make him smirk a bit. He was sure the question would come up eventually. But what was nice was not the immediate question. The response was nice and simple.

"Thanks." The Lombax climbed onto the chair next to the demon and let out a sigh. Much better. He took in air from his nose and the scent of the other man's drink caught his attention. It smelled good, just what was that.

"The name's Ratchet. So, what are you drinking tonight?"

The demon is just amused, that is all. Especially when it comes to the feline species. For a moment, he completely set aside what he's thinking about on his mind and allow the other to settle in. Hopefully for a nice chat and nothing more.

"The name is Sebastian." The demon replied. "Oh this?" He lifted his glass up. "It's call Catnip Tequila. The taste can be quite addictive if you can hold your drink."
