Masao was about to sit back and relax while listening to some Christmas music, but then he got a text from Rise. They were good friends and happened to be in the same class, so he wondered if she wanted him to help her complete some homework or something. Well, he had nothing to do... So why should he pass up the offer?

Sure, I can come over. I'm on my way, Rise-chan.

With that said, he closes his cellphone, throws on his coat and heads over to her house.

How he'd managed to score a girl like Rise for his girlfriend was anyone's guess, but Rude had never been one to look a gift horse in the mouth. They'd met, hit it off, and been dating - albeit secretly, and sporadically during his deep-cover assignment in the town, with the girl generally only knowing that he was away on 'business' a lot - for enough time to make the invitation no surprise at all.

Once he received the text, it took five minutes for him to get out the door and only another fifteen to be at hers, knocking lightly. It wouldn't do to keep her waiting, after all.

"Rise," he called out. "It's me."

Waiting was seriously the worst part of this whole situation. Rise really didn't think Rude would turn down the invitation, but then she couldn't be certain he was free for the night either. It would've sucked to have to work--or do whatever it was he did, she didn't ask questions--over Christmas, but some things couldn't be helped.

Having to wait to see if he would show up, then, was pure torture, but thankfully it wasn't too long before there was a knock followed by a very familiar voice calling out. Needless to say, she answered the door pretty quickly.

"Hey there," Rise cheerfully greeted, stepping back so he could come inside. "I'm glad you came."

He had never turned down an invite before unless circumstances made it absolutely necessary, and he certainly wouldn't now- not when the desire to see her was so strong. Rise just got a little nod, dipping down to press one short kiss to her lips before moving back inside, glancing around out of habit-- just in case there were any nasty surprises.

"Wouldn't miss it."

Close friends okay? yang_lee December 24 2011, 22:28:36 UTC
Yang's uncles were kind enough to let him and his brother have the weekend off for the holiday. With the restaurant closed and all of his shopping done, he'd holed himself up in his room and started wrapping gifts until it felt like his hands and brain would go numb.

Rise's text message was a very welcome distraction. Her invitation, a gift in of itself, if a little forward. Then again, Rise was rather forward and touchy herself. He didn't mind it, though. Not at all.

of course. :)

give me a few minutes?

She lived two train stops away. Normally, it'd take him around twenty minutes to get there. Twenty five, if he was going to stop at the 24-hour convenience store and buy some things.

He'd make the trip in fifteen minutes, tops.

Rise couldn't help but smile once she received Yang's response. It was always a little difficult to tell what someone would think about a sudden invitation, so it was a relief to see that Yang hadn't seemed to mind. At least now she didn't have to worry about being all alone, and she had to admit she was looking forward to his company too.

k but only a few ;)

With that message sent, all there was left to do was wait.

He kept true to his word; he made the trip to her house in record time. Even with the stop at the store to get some cake, he managed to ring the bell in under twenty minutes. He was calm and breathing normally; the flush of his face the only indication he'd even rushed.

Come on, like I could not tag this punches_fog December 25 2011, 19:49:26 UTC
After very carefully going through his texts, Souji alights on the one he'd really been looking forward to. Smiling, he responds in the affirmative:

Sure

And starts getting properly dressed. Fortunately, he'd already made a cake, so he wouldn't be showing up empty-handed.

Rise all but squealed once she received the response. She didn't think Souji would have turned down the invitation, but it was nice to receive a positive response all the same.

yaaaaay!

c u soon senpai <333

That sent out, all she had to do now was wait for him to arrive.

In as little time as he can manage, Souji is clean, dressed, be-cologned and on his way to Rise's door bearing a small cake. He takes his time to enjoy the cold weather, although he still makes as direct a trip as he can. No point getting too excited.

No point keeping her waiting, either, though, so he walks a little faster than usual.

Regardless, Souji is shortly at Rise's door, knocking politely.
