Jack had figured not changing the past few months would have been a gift, instead, it picked the WORST time to happen. Then again, it was the hotel - everything can't be peaches and butterflies.

Sniffing along the hall, his tail was wiggling, wanting to find any willing male or female and do what this place loves making him do - mate.

Inari was just coming out of the ofuro, his hair damp, and his robe still clinging to his athletic body in all the right places. He had hoped that some time relaxing in the bath would ease the ache the hotel had inflicted on him yet again, but no. If anything, it had given him time to fantasize, and made things worse--and of course, the time he was hoping someone would come in and join him, he had been left with the bath all too himself.

He shivered as the wolf's cold, wet nose touched his bare leg--swallowing hard as that same nose traveled higher. "Oh..." he mused, his voice a little hoarse as he looked down at his new...friend? "Hello to you, too."

((so, he is human shape right now, but i also use his face for my kitsune/shapeshifter if that suits your fancy. i know kitsune supposedly hate dogs, but maybe we can make an exception for a shapeshifted wolf. i'm cool playing it by ear))

Jack's tail was wiggling, half the work clearly all ready done for him. There was a yip in apology, no idea that Inari was going to understand him. Whoops...didn't mean to startle you...

Was he hearing Jack's thoughts? He must be, because he distinctly heard yips and barks, but somehow words were forming in Inari's mind, and he was instinctively answering aloud. "It's all right," he said, "I should pay more attention where I'm going. Not that I mind the company," he added.

Well...that response sure got Jack's head to tilt. He could have swore he was hearing yips and barks out of himself...yet, this guy understood him?

How can you understand me? Do you speak wolf?

This day had been ridiculously strange for Viet. Then again, everyday seemed strange to her. And it didn't help that she was stuck in this hotel with no foreseeable way out at the moment. Of course that just angered her. So now to make things even worse was the fact that there was now some sort of dog sniffing her rear entrance.

Squeaking a little and nearly jumping in surprise before turning around. Did-did that dog just talk?

"Um, h-hello?"

Jack's ears were perked, his tail wiggling. Hi there! You smell really good~ Of course, he had no idea she actually understood him or heard his thoughts.

"Um, th-thank you." She wasn't certain what was happening at the moment. Did something happen to her to make her able to understand the creature? Or was it just able to talk...somehow? Either way this was certainly interesting.

His tail wiggled, hears perking. Wait...you can understand me? That was new to him. As far as he knew, no one could understand him - nothing but yips and barks out of him.
