Returning to the homefront.

You think they called it 'the baby boom' for no reason?

One thing all soldiers want when they return home is to 'let loose', to celebrate and forget about the war. After ww2, in a time of swing dancing and the jitterbug, people were even celebrating in the streets-and of course there's the 'famous' poster of a sailor kissing and sweeping this one woman off her feet.

And since this is the end of ww2, it's not just male servicemen who seek pleasure, but female personel (WACs, WASPS, etc).

Anything to forget the horrors of war, right.

Burlesque is more than just a striptease to some rock n' roll music; more than just a tanned, blond woman with fake breasts and bleached blond hair. It's an art -- a way of dance to entice the audience and to tease them, make them believe you're taking it all off when you're really just giving them a peep and keeping the finale hidden.

The ways a woman's or man's sultry body is on stage, soft lights cascading down on them and making them look like untouchable beings -- just out of reach where the eyes wander like hands as a soft caress. How the skin is bejewled with diamonds and feathers...

And let's not forget our dear friend, the Green Fairy, come to take us away as we look upon the splendor that is on stage, making us yearn but knowing we mustn't touch. For your eyes only.
