Event: Zombie Outbreak

Oct 18, 2011 11:18

It was safe to say that a mob of zombies was the last thing Orihime expected to see at an island resort, particularly one that was run by the hotel. It was hard to wrap her mind around it all -- seeing zombies in the sunlight, particularly, smelling of rotten meat and coconut suntan oil -- so she didn't try. The fact of the matter was that there ( Read more... )

Is a humanized pegasus okay for an escort mission? derpdeedoo October 18 2011, 20:57:58 UTC
[A bit further along the shore there was a blonde girl in an orange bikini with a pair of bluish-grey wings coming out the middle of her back, giggling as she flew around in circles. On the ground were four zombies shambling around trying to follow and grab her. But she was just barely out of their reach.]

Hehehe... You cant catch meee~!

[Derpy, the sweet though airheaded mare, had no concept of what zombies were and the danger they carried. She figured they were all just playing a game of tag.]

Sure! I'm not used to action tags here, so sorry for fail! leekspin October 19 2011, 02:49:57 UTC
[Well that's something Orihime doesn't see every day...and kind of wishes she did! Even so, the situation could be dangerous if the zombies start getting creative and doing something like 'jumping'.]

Hey!

[Orihime runs toward the group of zombies, powers at the ready.]

Are you okay? Do you need help?

[It would be Derpy's turn to be "it" then! She smiled at seeing the redhead human coming over.]

Hello, miss human! Wanna play too? They're it!

[She swooped down so she floated beside Orihime.]

[As soon as the two are close together, Orihime wastes no time in putting up her shield. A zombie clumsily crashes into it, lacking the spiritual awareness to see the manifestation of her powers, and crashes into it again, and again, and again. Eventually it'll find a way to get around, but Orihime doesn't plan on sticking around and waiting for it to do that.]

...Sure!

[Whoever this person is, she doesn't seem to realize the danger she's in. And that's fine. People in hysterics are more prone to panic and making poor decisions, so why change that?]

I know a good place to hide, too. This way!

This was different. He'd seen his fair share of monsters and ghouls and all sorts of ghastly pretties, but zombies; well, that was another matter entirely. And ones that were trying to eat him? He wasn't sure whether to be amused or annoyed by this. On the one hand, he did so enjoy a good chase, but on the other hand, the little monsters were smearing their decaying, disgusting little hands all over his nice suit.

At the very least, wherever he was had been kind enough to leave him with his Nox Nyctores. Though there wasn't much effort in killing things that were already dead, it did give him enough satisfaction to keep the chain whipping and sailing through the air, knife slicing through dead, rotting skin as easily as a knife through melted butter.

"Honestly," he sighed, just barely skipping out reach of a lunging zombie with one hand firmly planted on his hat to keep it there. "You'd think they'd make this a little more challenging, a little more entertaining for being so close to Halloween. Ah, don't touch the hat!" He actually ( ... )

(OOC: Very well-written! ♥)That caught her attention. Though Orihime didn't slow her flight, she did turn her head at the sound of the cheery call. It was the most animated and happy sound she'd heard since the zombies had appeared, and she honestly wasn't quite sure how to react. Nonetheless, it was a relief to see another survivor. Had she witnessed the sheer ease at which he had defended himself with scarcely any effort, it would have been blatantly obvious just how he'd managed to keep his brains untasted for this long ( ... )

[ ooc; glad to hear it! ]

"Bitten? Not at all!" And here he gave a little twirl, hands held up in a mock gesture of surrender. "They've been trying though. Not exactly the most polite way to greet a person, but I suppose that's what happens when you've been turned into a bunch of flesh-eating savages. Biting people, tearing off arms---" He let out a quiet chuckle at that. "--chasing young girls across the sand ... what is the world coming to ( ... )

Orihime blinked, then couldn't help but smile a little. It was a rare person who could take such an upbeat approach to a zombie attack, but it was appreciated. Maybe he was crazy, but she decided that she liked him. If it helped him survive and keep his wits, so what if he was crazy?

"Mm!" she inclined her head once, her gaze flicking briefly toward the open space they momentarily possessed, and how that space was gradually beginning to shrink. "I can defend myself. I could feel a few more people still alive out here, though, so I'm trying to get them to the safehouse." This man must have been one of the souls she'd detected. He was definitely lively.

"I'm a little reluctant to kill them, though. There might be a cure." It didn't mean she wouldn't kill them, and she wouldn't feel all that guilty about it if she did. It just wasn't her first plan of action ( ... )
