Meet me in the library.

This is what it said on the note she had been given an hour ago. There was no indication as to who sent the note, as it wasn't signed, and she had no idea if this was someone she may have known or a complete stranger. Tifa was skeptical at first, not wanting to leave her room in case this was some hoax or a trap, but the more ( Read more... )

He had been watching her from the second she had stepped into the library, wondering and hoping that this was the same woman he had tender memories of that had seen him through the horrid experiments and the 30 years of imprisonment by Hojo.

Vincent quietly followed Tifa as she searched for the writer of the note that she held in her delicate hand, his bright red eyes tracing over her soft and beautiful features and down over her body as she moved to the secluded corner of the room still apprehensive about approaching the woman from his dreams and memories.

"I didn't think you would come." He stated as he stepped around one the tall bookcases.

Tifa jolted when a voice pierced through the darkness. She could not see well beyond the lamp's light, but that voice was umnistakable. "Vincent...?" He had sent the note?

She got up from her chair and stood up, eyes wide at seeing him. He wasn't in his Turk uniform. He was exactly as she had always remembered him; red cloak, golden claw, long unruly hair, and piercing red eyes.

The urge to run to him, envelope him in her arms was overwhelming, but she stood her ground, unsure if he would would accept something as such.

"At least you do not look as if you are about to cry this meeting." He lightly teased as he closed the gap between them slightly to gently brush his gloved fingertips against her cheek.

"I wish to thank you Miss Lockhart, your words and knowledge have helped me greatly."

She smiled and huffed a small laugh at that. Tifa had remembered their last meeting; it seemed like an entire lifetime ago. Her eyes closed when his fingers gently caressed her cheek, a sigh escaping her.

Tifa placed her hand over his chest, the belts and buckles so familiar and yet so strange. She had been remembering when he was in his suit, and seeing the transformation was quite astonishing.

She smiled softly, a sad look to her eyes. This was the Vincent she knew so well; loved him so much, but why did she feel like it was her who sent him to his death?

"I'm so sorry, Vincent," she breathed and closed the gap between them as she circled her arms around his waist, hidden beneath his cloak.
