It was her first time to visit China, and when to come at a better time than during the Autumn Festival? Wearing a traditional hanfu gown, Hikari made her way through the crowd of people to get a better view of the fire works. When she had seen the pond, her blue eyes were caught up in the sight of the lanterns and lights dancing across the water's surface, but when she saw the man sitting there at the water's edge she felt her heart skip a beat.

With all the beauty she had seen this evening, nothing could compare to the man's rather regal features. She instantly wished to be beside him. There was something about him, more than his eyes or the way he sat with a silent sort of pride.

Another firework went off and the light shined just above his head, causing an almost halo affect around his features.

"A guiding light-"

No, she hadn't realized that she was staring.

Hearing a noise behind him he turned around to search for its source. Oh, apparently that was the woman in the green gown. Lelouch nodded politely in a greeting manner.

"Good evening."

Who was she? Certainly none of the people he knew. Though she didn't look too threatening. Right, he knew all too well that the looks may be deceiving, but giving her a friendly smile wouldn't hurt. And so, he gave her a soft smile.

"May I help you somehow?"

"N-No, I was just admiring the fireworks from here," she blushed a bit when he spoke to her. Regal certainly was the appropriate word. She continued to stand as the fireworks went on, knowing full well it was rather rude to barge in on the man's spot and yet not wishing to leave his side. Maybe this was a blessing of sorts?

She noticed the food then and blushed again, "Oh, I'm sorry, were you expecting someone?" She stepped to the side as though she had the intention of leaving, though truthfully, she really just wanted to stay beside him. What had come over her? Sure he was handsome and held himself rather well, but she was simply making a fool of herself.

It was a little odd, the way that woman was behaving. However since it seemed like it was due to shyness, the emperor's smile widened a little as he returned to observing the sky.

He turned back to the stranger when she asked him a question. For a moment he just stared, then shook his head. "I wasn't. I just found all of this here." Why would he be waiting for someone? He couldn't be expecting any company; not him, not now. He was alone.

"Feel free to join, if you have some spare time." Why did he actually say that??

There were some things that Nunnally had really wanted to do while she'd been hiding with Lelouch in Japan, and one was to actually see fireworks while wearing a yukata. And it seemed like the Hotel was going to give her at least half of her wish, if not the other half. The young empress drew closer to the pond slowly, one hand on her forearm crutch while the other held an odd-looking sweet on a plate, something Anya would no doubt give a rather amusing name to.

As she drew closer to the water though it seemed like there was already someone there though she couldn't quite see who it was through the trees. "Ah! I'm sorry, I didn't realize someone else was here," Nunnally called over sheepishly. "I'll move down a little bit more..."

No wonder she didn't recognize him-- it was a little dark and in the end, the red tangzhuang wasn't a thing he wore daily. Not to mention she sure didn't expect him here. But he recognized her voice immediately-- his whole body froze, save for his heart which jumped a little bit. The bloody emperor turned his head towards the girl, the most gentle smile adorning his face. Indeed, that was his beloved little sister...

"You don't have to."

Lelouch was close to praying that she wouldn't flee from him. His heart would break if she did so.

Nunnally froze at the sound of his voice. Onii-sama. One elbow nudged a branch out of her way so she could actually see him clearly and after a few moments she broke into a rather hopeful smile. "Onii-sama!"

It's probably a good thing she didn't have to, since he was about to have a lap full of little sister the way she started picking her way down the slope with less caution than she should have been using. Walking in sandals wasn't easy! And if she did end up landing in the pond at least her goldfish themed yukata would fit in well, right? Not that Lelouch would ever let that happen of course.

[ooc: Hope you had nice vacation~ &hearts ]

Of course there was no possibility that she would end up in the pond-- her brother was here to catch her. Lelouch stood up. Nunnally was smiling, cheerful and what was the most amazing of it all-- perfectly fine. A 'man of miracles' was astounded by another miracle.

"Nunnally." He whispered, as if afraid that voicing her name would make her disappear. He opened up his arms, ready to welcome her.

NoN!Euphie at your service. took_the_throne October 1 2011, 06:10:28 UTC
Euphie had managed to slip out to attend the festival, her footsteps almost silent against the grass as she approached the pond. "..Do you mind if I join you?" The question was quiet, her expression pensive for a moment before she smiled down at him.

Their last meeting had been years before and while she'd made her peace with what had happened and was steering Britannia in the proper direction, she had missed him, even with Suzaku at her side.

Lelouch turned his head in the direction from which the question could have been heard-- and his eyes widened in surprise. He could have expected anyone, but not her. Though she seemed a little different from how he remembered her (but we all know how mind plays tricks), it was certainly her-- Euphemia li Britannia.

"Of course not." He replied, but after a long moment of silence. One does not usually meet their dead half-sister.

She blinked for a moment at his look, before carefully moving to take a seat beside him, her eyes darting to the surface of the water for a moment. "...Have you been well, Lelouch?" The question was mild, although her tone did hold a note of curiosity, her gaze shifting to him as she spoke.

It had been months since she'd seen him but she hadn't forgotten how he'd looked and his words and she was curious if he'd given up his path then.

"I've been... Okay, I think." What kind of strange question was that? Of course, in any other circumstances it would have been considered completely normal. He watched her carefully, taking in the sight of her, before finally deciding to ask a question himself. "And you?"

Before receiving an answer, he turned towards the lake and the flickering lights. A strange night indeed.
