Things had been a bit awkward around his room he past few days, so today Ion had venured off on his own to see if he couldn't find a friendly face or two. he replica eventually found himself in the doorway to the music room and peered inside, hoping to find Jack there maybe. He was disappointed, but wandered in anyway, moving over to the piano to

"As did I. We spoke of airplanes did we not?" She asked, tapping her chin. She could show him books, or better yet, her computer. Fortunately she had it with her. "Would you like to see what they look like?"
Reply
"Yes, I actually told my friend about it and he was greatly interested. I'd like to see."

Withdrawing a small blue case, Ami flipped it open to reveal it was in fact a small computer. Her fingers danced over the controls until the image of a commercial jet appeared and started to move. "This is a modern airplane. I may have some images of other kinds as well."

Ion looked curiously at the computer. They existed in his world, though they were mainly in research facilities like Belkend. He'd never seen one like this before.
His eyes lit up as he watched the moving image though, and he smiled, a thought going to Guy, who would love to see such a thing. "That's similar to the flight machines that were being developed in Sheridan," he said finally.

"What did they look like? Did you see any up close?"

From the way he spoke, Ami could probably guess he had been on one. "I thought it was an amazing way to travel. It's a shame that that kind of technology was originally lost during the Dawn Age."

"Perhaps one day we will find a room with flying machines that we could take into the air," she remarked, her smile widening. Given what she'd seen on some of the hotel floors, it seemed very likely there was such a place somewhere. "If I may ask, what is the Dawn Age?"

'The Dawn Age was the time period around two thousand years ago," he explained. "Fontech was much more advanced then and it was the time when Yulia Jue, the person who founded the order I lead, first read the Score that most of the world follows."

Some of the words he used didn't quite make sense to her, but she got the gist of it. His world was much more advanced at one point, but something must have happened. She could relate on some levels with that, notably the computer she used. "The Score? Such as a musical score?"

he didn't really expect her to understand all of the terms he used, but he was glad she'd understood the gist of it. He shook his head though. "No, people like me can read the Score to tell others parts of the future. It's only a possible future and only comes about if the Score is followed."
Reply
"That sounds like a remarkable ability. Is it one you enjoy?"

"Perhaps the future is best left to unfold as we make our own decisions along the way."

"People should live their lives in their own way, free from outside influences," she added, tilting her head back slightly. "I suppose that's a little difficult here."
