Music Room//No Event//BYOA

Things had been a bit awkward around his room he past few days, so today Ion had venured off on his own to see if he couldn't find a friendly face or two. he replica eventually found himself in the doorway to the music room and peered inside, hoping to find Jack there maybe. He was disappointed, but wandered in anyway, moving over to the piano to ( Read more... )

This was Ami's first venture into the music room, drawn in by the sound of a piano as she passed by. It looked like the kind of place she wouldn't mind spending some time alone, but there was already someone there. She didn't recognize him exactly, approaching from behind, but she felt an odd sense of familiarity. Ami cleared her throat before she got too close, so as not to startle the young man sitting there. "Hello. Would you mind some company?"

most of mine were things I'd already replied to mizunosenshi September 22 2011, 02:33:44 UTC
"I don't remember meeting anyone with that name, but I'll keep it in mind if I do. Perhaps the three of us can meet here in this music room one day." Surely they could find an hour or two without the hotel playing its games. A little music would probably help calm their minds either way.

"As did I. We spoke of airplanes did we not?" She asked, tapping her chin. She could show him books, or better yet, her computer. Fortunately she had it with her. "Would you like to see what they look like?"

I did get those too. ^^ frailestreplica September 22 2011, 02:57:06 UTC
"Okay. I think that would be wonderful. She has a very pretty voice." Ion leaned forward a little. He also wanted to see his friend one more time, as selfish as that felt.

"Yes, I actually told my friend about it and he was greatly interested. I'd like to see."

Ami was looking forward to it, even if the chances of the three of them meeting was slim. Strange things had happened. A lot. So nothing was impossible.

Withdrawing a small blue case, Ami flipped it open to reveal it was in fact a small computer. Her fingers danced over the controls until the image of a commercial jet appeared and started to move. "This is a modern airplane. I may have some images of other kinds as well."

It really wasn't, and it most likely wouldn't hurt if they all met.

Ion looked curiously at the computer. They existed in his world, though they were mainly in research facilities like Belkend. He'd never seen one like this before.

His eyes lit up as he watched the moving image though, and he smiled, a thought going to Guy, who would love to see such a thing. "That's similar to the flight machines that were being developed in Sheridan," he said finally.

Ami's fingers danced over the buttons, calling up another brief clip of a biplane coming in for a landing. If only she had access to the internet within the hotel, she might find more, but alas all she had what was downloaded on the computer. Which admittedly, was a lot more than the computers of her time could even handle. It was something of a relic, lost technology from the Silver Millennium.

"What did they look like? Did you see any up close?"

"It doesn't look anything that that one," Ion chuckled, watching the biplane land. "Its wings take up the length of the body on either side and the two parts that determine the direction can be facing the ground or straight ahead. Without a flight stone it can't fly, but it can still hover low over the ground and water."

From the way he spoke, Ami could probably guess he had been on one. "I thought it was an amazing way to travel. It's a shame that that kind of technology was originally lost during the Dawn Age."

Ami had to guess there was some form of magic or high technology involved, because what he described didn't seem to fit with her understanding of physics. Unless she grossly misunderstood what a flight stone was, but to her it sounded like an artifact of magic, not unlike the Silver Crystal or her own henshin wand.

"Perhaps one day we will find a room with flying machines that we could take into the air," she remarked, her smile widening. Given what she'd seen on some of the hotel floors, it seemed very likely there was such a place somewhere. "If I may ask, what is the Dawn Age?"

There probably was, though Ion wouldn't pretend to truly understand it. He rested his hands rested on the bench between his legs. "It would be interesting if we could." If that happened then he would have to show Guy.

'The Dawn Age was the time period around two thousand years ago," he explained. "Fontech was much more advanced then and it was the time when Yulia Jue, the person who founded the order I lead, first read the Score that most of the world follows."

A new mission has been added! Find an airplane, or some other form of flying device, and make the most of it. A dirigible might be fun, because you could get a good view of everything out of the windows. Ami was looking forward to it already.

Some of the words he used didn't quite make sense to her, but she got the gist of it. His world was much more advanced at one point, but something must have happened. She could relate on some levels with that, notably the computer she used. "The Score? Such as a musical score?"

Ion would definitely be keep an eye out for possible places.

he didn't really expect her to understand all of the terms he used, but he was glad she'd understood the gist of it. He shook his head though. "No, people like me can read the Score to tell others parts of the future. It's only a possible future and only comes about if the Score is followed."

As she listened, she nodded. Had he mentioned that before? She wasn't sure, but it did sound familiar. Either way, she understood much better now. Predicting the future wasn't an exact science, but it was fascinating to think someone had laid out plans, or Scores, that could lead to an outcome so precisely when followed.

"That sounds like a remarkable ability. Is it one you enjoy?"

"Not really, there are a lot of things regarding the use of the Score that I don't agree with. And I know how the most well-known Score will end if no one stops it."

Ami's smile faltered slightly. She could see how that would be troubling to know something and feel helpless to stop it. Perhaps knowing the future wasn't such a good thing. Then again, she'd had a little peek of her own future once.

"Perhaps the future is best left to unfold as we make our own decisions along the way."

"I agree. The Score can be a useful guideline, but people shouldn't live their lives based on it." Ion smiled brightly though. He rather liked how Ami thought. She seemed to give things a bit of consideration.

Ami's fingers moved gracefully over the piano keys, pressing down lightly to play a quiet major chord. Things were always given consideration, no matter how impractical they seemed at first glance. She'd seen too much to dismiss anything right away.

"People should live their lives in their own way, free from outside influences," she added, tilting her head back slightly. "I suppose that's a little difficult here."
