It was 1:00 am, and most of the house was asleep. College student Flynn, however, was not. He had been studying since he came home from football practice at 8 and showed no signs of stopping. Flynn was far from what anyone would call a bookworm, but recently he had noticed a lapse in his grades. As usual, his response to this was to completely go ( Read more... )

Nunnally let the door swing open completely and stood leaning on her cane for several moments before making her way across the room towards Flynn with an openly concerned expression. It didn't take more than a few steps, but she had to be rather careful about the paper on the floor until she could settle on the couch next to him close enough so she could lean against his side. He had broken ties with many of his family members for their treatment of her, and was positively livid at the fact that he was the only one trying to comfort and support her at both of their parents funerals ( ... )

Nunnally blinked curiously at him. What an odd reaction, one she hadn't expected since she accidentally shifted and almost fell right into his lap with a squeak when he turned. Not that she would have minded, but there was already a rather unforgiving text book there and there were much better things in the world to land on than a large book. Instead she managed to grab his arm for balance.

"What... what?" She asked when she thought she was safe from falling over any more.
