It was quite by accident that she had stumbled upon the garden. She’d never been here before, so it was a rather enjoyable treat.

Walking along she paused every now and again to take a closer look, to breathe deep the fragrance that an interesting plant held, or even to pluck-no that wasn’t the right word for what she was doing-to rip and shred to ( Read more... )

Pro: he finally had his body back. His real, corporeal, physical body, with all the scars and hairs and functioning dick (yes of course he checked) everything just like he remembered.

Con: he couldn't seem to leave the damn garden. Also, he was beginning to suspect that the big nasty pink flower up by the fountain had had more than just pollen in its pollen. Ever since he'd walked into the thing he'd felt... warm. And warm in the Hotel was never ever a good thing.

But if elevated horniness was the cost to pay for getting his body back, it was a price he was more than happy to accept. Hell, if the Hotel wanted him to screw some random person in payment for having a body again, he was fine with that, too! God he'd missed being able to touch things, to feel heat, and cold. And god how he'd missed cigarettes. As soon as he got out of the gardens he was going to go and smoke an entire carton in one sitting. It was going to be amazingHead full of happy smokey thoughts, Gojyo burst through a wall of hedge and nearly slammed into the woman ( ... )

And then he recognized her, and all the blood drained from his face. The Hotel had played some terrible tricks, but this...

"...Mom!?"

She wouldn't have even bothered looking at him if he hadn't spoken, it was too nice a day to worry over something so insignificant as an accident. But there was only one person who called her that, and that wasn't Jien's voice.

She turned to correct whoever it was and froze. There was no way he could be here, no way he was still alive. Backing up, she hissed at him, "You're dead."

He could decide whether to hit her or hold her, so in the end he did neither. Gojyo's hands fell limp at his sides, and his mouth twisted into something not even close to a smile.

The version he'd met before, in Kami-sama's fog maze, that had been an illusion. That was the real world, and in the real world, she was dead. But he'd met enough dead people here, enough alternate versions of people...

She might be an illusion. She might be an alternate. Or, she might actually be his mom.

"Sorry to disappoint."

At first, he didn't notice her from his spot in a nice shady area just off the beaten path. The scenery was just too pretty to pull his attention away from, but as soon as she came closer, he politely cleared his throat to let her know she wasn't alone. While he wasn't exactly in a social mood, he knew he couldn't completely pull away from others in the hotel.

It just wasn't healthy.

How odd it was to not only find such an unusual place but also a strange face around what was normally a quiet little area.

Absentmindedly she crumbled another flower as she made her way closer to his location. For a moment it makes sense and she almost feels bad about the flowers, but doesn't.

"I'm sorry. Is this yours?"

Already slipping into that polite mask of his, he stood, absently brushing the grass clinging to his pants. As far as he could remember, he hadn't seen her around the hotel before, but that wasn't really saying much. It was a huge place and he tended to stay around his own room if at all possible.

"It's one of the gardens here in the hotel. I just happen to enjoy being in here. It's one of the more peaceful spots."

The poor man must have been out in the sun longer than he'd thought to be saying such bizarre things. Who'd ever heard of a hotel large enough to hold a garden this large. And surely she would have noticed entering any buildings.

"Are you quite alright? I'm afraid you might be ill if you think we're in some hotel."
