He hadn't thought this through past getting into a room so he didn't really care when the door shut and they continued, not even looking for the bed he assumed should probably be there. Mello wasn't sure when he'd realized how much he'd missed this--sometime between that first touch and the kiss--but now he couldn't take his hands off Matt's body, ( Read more... )

Of course he'd smashed the pitcher. Mello shrugged and nodded, closing his eyes as he listened to Matt's footsteps moving away. The water ran, stopped, ran again, and it was easy to figure out Matt had cooled off first. Mello only opened his eyes to see the proof in his soaking hair when he heard Matt stop in front of him again ( ... )

The tickling made him twitch away slightly, but he seemed too lazy to do much of anything else. Mello laughed dryly, wincing without really noticing. "A shower." Not that that was going to be feasible right now, so he didn't press the issue. He did, however, lift his head to look around blearily.

"Is there any chocolate or something around?" Predictable.

"There's not," he told him. "There aren't any chocolates or cigarettes."

They were trapped on the couch because Matt wasn't going to get up by himself. The question had been more curiosity than anything. He didn't want either of the things Mello did so he just dragged fingers over his chest in the imitation of a caress, these slow steps that were something and nothing all at once. "What about something that's not physical? What do you need?"

"There might be. You never checked, jackass," Mello pointed out, but it was more just to contradict than because he was telling Matt to go. No, he wanted him to stay right there, soaking up the little touches and caresses like he'd never been touched before. A little sigh, zoning out-- and then Matt spoke again and Mello realized his eyes had closed.

He blinked, looking up. "Huh?" It wasn't a particularly intelligent response, so he amended instead to, "I don't know." Staring at Matt was distracting, green eyes holding his attention, and he blinked again, trying to force his thought to stop fluttering about like gnats in his head. A slow smile spread his lips after a second, and maybe in reality he was actually answering Matt's question by posing one of his own. "Are you asking because you care?"

"I wouldn't ask if I didn't care," he pointed out, watching Mello's reaction to each touch fixedly as if everything was an experimentation. Learning was caught between touches, eaten up by sight. The lazy heaviness of the room made it impossible for him to care about turning the touches into more than that but if he'd hurried with each caress then he might have missed something important too.

He didn't offer anything else in return because he was still waiting for Mello to answer the question and understand whether it was something feasible or not. Waiting was traced out by his fingers idling down Mello's stomach to make a smooth trail down to his navel and then they stopped.
